OK everybody, I found the problem in the standalone version. I goofed with the folders and left the armour texture folder named "elven" instead of "quicksilverelven". I fixed it and reuploaded as version 1.1. Everything should work fine now and display properly.
i found why it doesn't show the set in the proper color in the standalone for some people (i don't know the replacer, i dont use it), its normal elvish yellow with a tint of blue.... instead of grey.... its because in the mesh in the texture string, says the whole route of the directory.... like ( c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data\textures\armor\quicksilverelven\m\boots_d.dds ) and thats not the directory for some of us, you have to eliminate until "data", its only required from textures til the end. ;-)
(edit... still... in nifskope looks good but ingame looks yellow, not like your pictures... dunno why... could be the mask? the cubemaps? sigh)
I downloaded the standalone version of this mod and while the armor pieces all appear as they should, all of the quicksilver weapons still have the regular elven colors
So is this thing compatible with aMidianBorn Book of Silence textures? I mean, the standalone version. They're technically 2 sets, but my NMM asks if I want to replace the aMidianBorn black elven textures.
EDIT: So I just tested and they are not compatible, sadly. I'm gonna have to choose aMidianBorn over this (because Thalmor looks perfectly evil with those black things), but is it at all possible that you could make the two compatible, the standalone and the texture replacer, that is? This mod is really, really cool.
That's strange. My standalone version should be putting its meshes and textures in custom folders named "quicksilverelven", which wouldn't conflict with amidianborn unless he also is putting stuff in a folder of the same name. I'll have to download it and see what's going on.
One more thing, there are two versions of the same chestplate. The statistical differential is 3 points in armour, but Gilded is missing. The armour itself is very spiffy.
The two chestplates are different. The "light" version is lacking shoulder pauldrons.
As for the textures. . . the textures should be working properly, but the standalone meshes are still referencing the vanilla normal maps. I forgot that the amidianborn textures also changed the normal maps, so it might make things look weird.
That sounds like the armour textures didn't install properly. For some strange reason, Bethesda put the Elven shield mesh in the armour folder but the shield texture in the weapons folder, and I kept that structure in my Quicksilver set.
I really like the standalone/replacer option! Suggestion, you should make the replacer and the standalone both main files so that people have to go to the "files" tab to see which one they'd want, since only one is needed.
