i'm still unsure what to call these bows, a Greatbow or a Warbow, since Dark Souls calls their heavier bows as Greatbows and Chivalry Medieval Warfare call heavy bows as Warbows, i've read some modern and historical writings on the types of bows available. the composite, recurve, reflex, compound and longbow have very clear differences but when i search for the differences between longbows, warbows and greatbows, things get murky, people claim bows are called warbows when they reach a certain draw weight while others claim that warbows are any bow used in warfare and there's really no mention of Greatbows aside from a couple of video games and a book, but i think the term greatbow in that book does not mean it as a different class of bow
Naming conventions vary greatly from culture to culture. For a great deal of Europe, it seems the divider between hunting and war bows was poundage; the 150lb warbow would run straight through a deer and the tree behind it. lol
To my knowledge (and I freely admit Im no expert) Japan is the only culture that had a specific "great bow", as that is a rough translation of "Daikyu" the war bow of the Samurai that you can still see used in Kyudo today. for most the others, it seems more of a pissing match of whos warbows were the biggest.
I followed the instructions exactly but only the esp shows up in vortex. So i have the plugin but theres no mod. What should i do? it has the orange error triangle symbol.
The description says incompatible with mods that alter the perk, i assume that includes Ordinator, yes? I was hoping to download the enchantable version without messing with Ordinator, but you can't have everything i suppose.
This works in SE with no real massive issues. Bloodcursed Greatarrows don't produce an eclipse when used with Auriel's Greatbow, but I'm not sure whether that was a bug in the original version or not.
I wanted to find a mod that adds something like the dragonslayer greatbow from Dark Souls and this is one of the perfect mod! Still I think I would like some modification :
1) Even bigger bows and arrow! 2) Can't crouch and move while firing. 3) Can't shoot the arrow until the firing animation is finished.
As of now, I think greatbows are too powerful. The dps seems higher than with any other weapons. I think not being able to move and crouch while shooting should be able to balance the power. I know a bit about programming and modding so I think I'm going to do this myself. Anyways, thanks for the mod ghostrecon123!
Is it possible to tweak the damage to the Auriels Greatbow enchantment without breaking the bow effects? Every time I try to modify any of these files I lose the sound and impact effects and stagger effects that make these bows so unique and cool.
Noticed something when I was fiddling around after installation: Greatbows can fire normal arrows and vice-versa. Was this intended? It seems unlikely, it's rather silly to have the normal too-short arrows readied on the greatbows and it's even more absurd with the large arrows on small bows.
