This ENB looks sooo gorgeous when weather is fine, but sadly weird with mintys lightning mod during thunderstorms and the cot weather patch from prod80.
i think, i have to uninstall them...sigh.
Edit: maybe i dont use RLO, is that the reason? I have ELFX installed in and exteriors. And the mountains are not too bright, the sky is too dark...
I noticed that too when saving, but it didn't annoy me since saving means a hort fps fdrop anyway ; however I did not know about low framerate issues... Did you notice screen flickering before v0.264-3 ? (I mean, since v0.264 for instance, or before ?) :/
Maybe it's something related to ENBseries 0.264 files then ? I don't know if the changes I made since v0.262 could cause this kind of troubles, to be honest. I haven't found any fix yet, except people talking about an old nvidia driver bug (but that was v310, that's kinda old) or FPSlimiter but this one did not change anything in my case...
Nope, i also set it to true with nothing effect....maybe it's an NVIDIA Bug...i've read in forums about screen flickering in different games with 344.11.
I think, i went back to 332.21., i had no problems with this one.
Edit: It is NOT the ENB. it's also in vanilla, i'll try the new 344.48 driver now.
Edit: The flickering and lagging is cause by engine overload, i'm using different grass mods.
Okay, it looks very nice with the blue sky now.^^ But i've got problems with the mountains in snowstorms, there are way to white and this looks weird, for example in labyrinthion. I'm using Wet&Cold and Weather Patch for COT but without volumetric fog. Oh and Barahl. which are your gamma settings btw? mine are 1.1600.
Ok i've completely reinstall ENB and also the ini files and renderinfo.txt- There where different settings in enbseries folder where i have put the enbhelper.dll, i try again soon, thx for your help.
Edit: Same in snowstorm, or thunder, maybe i dont use RLO, is that the reason? I have ELFX installed in and exteriors.
/!\ I WILL USE THIS THREAD FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS. DO NOT POST HERE !
Hello everyone. I know ENB binaries v0.264 is out ; however I cannot really update the mod right now. (I am moving to another place for my studies ; my desktop computer is in a box and I can't use it ) Don't worry though, I will be able to look at the files again soon. Hopefully next week. Anyway, v0.264 is not really needed to enjoy the game. And keep in mind that I am not making updates only to follow binaries version ; I want to improve the preset everytime. That's why I will wait until I can really look at it while playing, instead of copy/paste previous version in the new enbseries.ini with a laptop that can't run it. Bye and have fun
So.... I am late. Sorry for that. I didn't expect to be so busy (I guess I got used to holidays...). I released the new version, but I am still waiting for feedbacks. I will do my best to react quickly
For my opinion the rain is barely visible, is it possible to make it more visible? And another thing is, that the sunrises and sunsets look different with mist on than off.
What is the difference between mist and volumetric mist? last one eats more frames.^^
Motionstretch increases the length of the rain and motiontransparency makes the rain less visible at higher values. If you dont like how ENB handles the rain you could try to set Enable=false too
Yes, I am using the CoT weather patch, but what do you mean by the mountains looking strange? If they look very white in the background it is likely the mist effect that you see, wich can be turned off by setting enablemist=false in the effects section of enbseries.ini. If they look blurry sometimes it is the weather patch that does this during rain, wich has nothing to do with an ENB.
So, I have been looking for this mountains issue and yes, they look too white at sunset, but not everywhere. I noticed it near Riften. I will see what I can do.
Mountains seems to be fixed now. Last thing I'm looking at is the sky at night, which is too dark. I don't know if it is related to my CoT preset but I can barely see the stars. So here are the changes I made since v0.262-2 : - Tweaked lighting intensity at daytime to make it less bright and more realistic (it is still bright, but looks better now). - Made water less dark without having the weird glow at night - Fixed the white mountains at sunset, now they look as dark as they should - Currently trying to improve the sky at night.
Hopefully I will be able to upload the new version tonight ; if not, it will be out tomorrow
Edit : Looks better now. I'll keep running around Skyrim for a while and see if everything is alright, then I'll upload new file.
I have been searching a long time for a good enb preset, most looked too saturated or too desaturated, but this one looks great in that aspect, I also love how the sun looks during the sunrises and sunsets. However, I think the difference between day and night is too much, during sunny weather everything looks too bleak during the daytime and during the night it is impossible to see anything. Do you have any advice on what parameters to tweak to make the days darker and the nights brighter? @Dahaka71 I use the enbeffectprepass from project enb, it has a stronger DoF and there is an optional download with multiple DoF variants.
I think the easiest way to tweak night brightness is to look for AmbientLightingIntensityNight in the Environments section, but for daylight it would be more complicated since there is sun/sky lighting to take into account. It is true that large open places, such as Whiterun hold, are often really bright in the daytime, while other places (the Reach for instance) are way darker ; so I still need to find a good balance. This may be something that needs to be fixed in next update.
Edit : So, I looked at this day brightness problem (and at some other ones I had in mind). I am always making little changes with my own game, so I will update the mod once I am satisfied.
Thanks for the fast reply. I will tweak with the Environment settings, but I was hoping that the nightday or adaption parameters would make the difference between day and night less. I am using the ELFX version and the interiors look really great with it. I think I will just tweak the ambient light settings for the night and lower my game brightness for the day.
Well I cannot provide full support for ELFX version, since it was tweaked by someone else from the original version ; I am not using it and I never updated it so...
I dont think that is a problem, I can put the new exterior values in and leave the interior values the same (I think, I have not much experience with tweaking ENB)
EDIT: I have set the directlightingnight and ambientlightingnight to 0.5 and at midnight it now looks good to me, however the hours before and after midnight are still very dark while my sunset and sunrise values are actually higher, do you know what causes this? Also i set my gamma to 1.5 to make the days a little darker but i might have to turn that up too.
EDIT 2: Tried changing the sunset and sunrise settings and everything turned green, I think I will stop tweaking for now...
About Sweetfx I don't really know, never used Sweetfx and ENB at the same time. Sorry if I can't help you more. I know some ENB presets are designed to work alongside with a specific sweetfx setting so it should work... Of course ELFX won't create conflicts with any ENB, but it might not look as desired. Best thing you can do is to try it and see. By the way someone tweaked the original file to look better with ELFX so you may want to try both versions. Can you please show me a screenshot of what's wrong with the mountains ? So I can see if I need to fix it Thanks !
Ok, so first of all you can edit enbseries.ini in game by pressing shift+enter. A menu will appear and allow you to tweak effects. However clicking in this menu will make your character attack randomly, so you should open the game console with ² to pause the game so nothing bad happens
How can i get the sunglare more shining, more brighter, more glistening, and more red at sunsets or sunrises? do you know that?
Shift + enter then look for the "sky" section. There are several settings related to sun, such as intensity and color filter. They are available for sunrise, day, sunset and night (yes, tweaking the sun at night is VERY useful ^^).
Another question is, can you make optional DOFs?
If you mean make the DOF feature optional, no need : you can edit enbseries.ini, and under the "effects" sections just modify the "enabledepthoffield" line (write false instead of true). If you want to have several DOF options I can do it by editing another file and then upload the optional files here. I am not fond of DOF so I didn't really care. I disable it most of the time in game.
And, which sun/sunglare are you using in the screenshots?
I think it was "realistic sun and sunglares - cot edition" or something like that (just google it to find the mod).
Can you optimize your preset to work well with the weather patch from prod80?
I never tried this patch but I could look into it...
What about procedural sun, how is this working? and how can i get the vanilla sunglare back? (using COT 3.1.bsa, no loose files)
I am not really sure about that, but I think procedural sun replaces the sun textures by the ones from ENB. To get the vanilla sunglare, you will have to find the sun textures installed by CoT or any other mod in your data/texture/etc... folder and delete them. As far as I know, the game use the Data folder as an "override" folder so if there is nothing in it, it uses the vanilla files from BSA archives.
Wow another update already. I would have skipped it, but I noticed a few minor changes that needed to be done after v0.261. Anyway I had already tweaked it on my game so it was ready for the update

As you can see the mountains looks just fine... :/
I will check the files in the last version. Maybe I uploaded the wrong ones.
Edit:
no it's not it, without ENB all mountains look fine.
It would be good if someone else could check this detail on another modded game...
For now you should try adjusting FogColorCurve in the environnement section and see if it looks better. Hope this will help.

[RAIN]
Enable=true
EnableAntialiasing=false
EnableSupersampling=false
MotionStretch=0.5
MotionTransparency=0.7
IgnoreWeatherSystem=false
Motionstretch increases the length of the rain and motiontransparency makes the rain less visible at higher values.
If you dont like how ENB handles the rain you could try to set Enable=false too
Edit:
Do you use the weather patch from prod80 with this enb?
sometimes the mountains look strange for my opinion. But i also use sweet fx.
If they look very white in the background it is likely the mist effect that you see, wich can be turned off by setting enablemist=false in the effects section of enbseries.ini.
If they look blurry sometimes it is the weather patch that does this during rain, wich has nothing to do with an ENB.
So here are the changes I made since v0.262-2 :

Edit:
The fireplaces in breezehome, dragonsreach and bannered mare, look very yellowish for my opinion. The fire in exteriors looks different.
Edit:
Nvm cause of the ELFX enhancer.

but sometimes the mountains are to bright in the morning/evening times for my opinion.
In daytime it looks gorgeous, the mist is beautiful.
Does it work with Sweet FX?
Does it work with ELFX interior/exterior?

Oh and one more thing, you should get far more endorsements for this awesome ENB preset!
And by the way, enbseries 0.261 is out
Anyway, if there is anything wrong with the new version, please tell me.

I don't think so, i think it uses the COT sunglare, i haven't install the loose files version of COT.
Enbseries 0.262 is out....it never ends...^^
