If you get the urge at some point, could you make a mod to double up the number of teeth that you get from Sabre Cats? Same crafting complaint as with the goat horns. Just a thought. I've been using this mod since day one and I greatly appreciate your putting it together.
always good to hear as i stated in another post i did not recieve any notification for htis post either, not sure how many teeth you get from saber cat in vanilla im guessing 1? i can do a small change for that as well. if this keeps up might have to do a full animal loot change xD but yes i can do one for sabercat teeth as well ill get on that right this second so look for it soon
is this compatable with the hunter mods? like the one that increases tusks? I still only get one horn and a leg (or 2) from goats and need this if it won't cause CTD thanks for making it even if I can't use it
hm it appears i was not notified of htis post, the only hunter mod i have tried with this was hunterborn that affects the loot. just gathering ingredients does not work but if you have a manual loot option then you could try looting at least just the goats that way/ surprised its not in hunting mods already
i think you need two for things but killing a goat would only give you one horn so for whatever reason apparently the dragonborn decides to leave one of the other horn lol i know some people that were annoyed at how you need a pair but would only ever get one i dont normally do things like hearthfires build your own house thing so idk how many horns you need for everything but looting two just makes sense
Nice! Hehe I just added in antlers to all the deer and elk in one of my random tweak mods due to killing 27 deer and elk (those things are a nightmare to hunt down at level 1, and I need the antlers to make bowstring knocks to construct the bows I made for Bob's) because not one of them had any antlers in their loot.
Actually, I've not seen proper setups for the animal yields anywhere. I have seen some changes, but not actual full on realism. You could seriously expand this to fixing all of them and make it a powerhouse overhaul.
I think part of the reason is that to have realistic yields is a bit unbalancing, but that's something Bethesda should have taken into account during development lol. MMO style loot drops have no place in a single player game, and that's what was done with the animals... or as Robbaz put it, a cave simulator. I'd love to see parts added into the lists. If I had time, I'd make the organ and meat models. Wouldn't it be cool to have it set up so your skin falls off from eating a bear liver in one sitting?
I remember before Oblivion was released, watching a video and Todd Howard was explaining what was going on in their demo video. He got to the part of hunting and said, "You can kill the deer... take its meat... eat it...", with obvious pauses in between each part as if he was leaving other things you could do with the deer out. But in the end, when the game was released, his paused statements were exactly the only thing you could do with the deer. Kill it, take its meat, eat it. Was a pretty big let down. You'd think, with all of the great new features they stole from modders over the games' generations, that they would have had a lot more depth.
For those who don't know, here's a very short list of things modders made that Bethesda copied. Horses NPC schedules Cooking Mounted combat Everything associated with crafting weapons and armor Dismemberment Everything associated with Fallout's hardcore mode (hunger and thirst, etc.) Quivers This list goes on for a couple pages.
ya i watch someone on twitch and they were getting annoyed that they hardly got horns from a goat and when they did they only got one so i made it to 2 horns and someone suggested 4 legs so now it has the 2horns and 4legs i like realism so i figured hey why not this solves her issue and im sure others will enjoy this small change to the game especially those that like things real and immerse themselves
