You can't play on your save anymore if you start with this mod on. You must make a new game without this if you decide that you don't like it. This happened to me but I will not start a new save for I would be losing a ton of hours so I must keep this on and it more often than not bugs out where it says you're in combat when you can't even find the enemy and have to run far away to diseange combat and enter whatever menu,
If we're going for immersion, I think its enough just to prevent the player from switching armor during combat. Switching weapons / spells isn't that bad actually, since there's still the delay from the sheathing.
I personally like how Equipping Overhaul Handles weapon swapping (ie dropping the held weapon to the ground), but other issues with it prevent me from using it.
No, the function only allows me to block all ingame menus altogether. So the SkyUI group hotkeys are your best shot (you can set up ut to 8 hotkeys). I believe there some other mods that allow you to cast specific spells or consume potions automatically if you set specific conditions for it so you can try looking around if find something that suits you.
I like this mod. I have looked for it very long time, but there is something need to be changed.
It is not reasonable when we can not use a spells or items during combat. The thing that we need to disable is pause time menu when a combat start. Just let player still open the item/magic menu but everything still run in this time instead of pause like before. So you need to hide somewhere to change your gear or drink a potions.
You may consider disable save game during combat. It's not meaning when we can save and load every time until we defeat a boss.
Believe me I would disable save game during battle if I could - that would stop me from saving after every successful hit. I too would like to see realtime menus in Skyrim (including lockpicking and stuff...) but I do not think it is possible and even if it was it would be far beyound my modding skills.
This makes spellcasting useless unless you favorite every single spell and shout you think you'll ever use. And renders potions useless, because their whole purpose is to be used in combat which the enemies themselves do i might add.
Not "useless", just more realistic. Spellcasting in a lot of lore is not a dime-a-dozen like in many video games. They require concentration and actual *casting*, which takes time.
I understand what you are saying but IMO this is a very interesting approach, and it is utterly absurd that you can drink potions and change armour during combat.
Curious how this will work along side the smart cast mod.....which makes it so you don't have to access the menu for spells and just the favorites menu.
I try not to use potions like ever, only before and after a fight. I think people can do this on their own lol but good mod, drinking or even eating in the middle of a fight makes little sense. What I'd like is a mod that doesn't stop time while lockpicking :/

If you didn't favourite your health potions then you deserve to die.
