Nice mod, but wtf that first paragraph. Have you ever maxed out enchanting and then enchanted with grand soul gems? It's A LOT better than college robes, SO MUCH better. Two effects per item, stronger than any mage robe effects, the only exception is the arch mages robe, and that's arguably weaker than some enchantments depending on what you want
I saw this mod a while ago. I never bothered to install it. It did not seem necessary.
I kept hearing more and more comments from NPC about my robes. Requests to brew ale, comments about being a 'wizard or something', and a dozen people telling me that they never got the hang of it.
Today, Windhelm's court wizard approached me during an important discussion with the Jarl and his second-in-command.
"Nice robes." he said, drowning out the Jarl's important speech, "You a wizard or somethin'?"
This is so awesome! If only my game didn't crash all the time in Saarthal whenever I try re-doing the Questline. Have you ever had the "Are you a mage or did you steal those from a real wizard." Comment? I get it all the time...
I like the idea, but I've never found the College robes to be the "be all and end all" of anything. My mage set is composed of custom enchanted Tavern Boots, Vaermina Robes, Purple Cowl from some hood set I have added and Mage Gloves that came unenchanted, plus Silver Amethyst ring, necklace and circlet (jewellery types mod). Honestly they are massively OP even for an end-game mage.
I can agree with your reasons for making this. I hate how being a mage gives you barely any other options than joining the College, anyway. I hope TES VI features at least 2 magic guilds, 2 fighters guilds etc. Like Morrowind had the Telvanni and the Mages.
However, my current wizard is indeed aligned with the college, so I'll keep this in mind for laterplaythroughs.
My good sir, we will be lucky, if TES VI will include even one decent guild. There isn't any diversity here, even in Oblivion, you couldn't join BWC though it was good alternative for FG or Mannimarco for MG. Only hope and power in mods. But for Skyrim there aren't any good joinable fation mods, with in depth backstory. Current guilds, without mods, are also nothing. Some thing like hi you are archmage. :/
