    Note: This mod does NOT fix the bug where "fortify pickpocket" enchantments and potions decrease the pickpocket success rate. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any standalone mods that fix this. Only thing I found that does is the USKP, which is a bloated nightmare that also "fixes" a lot of things that (in my opinion) were never broken.

    Still, the fact that USKP fixed it means that it is possible for a mod to do so. If the author of this mod reads this, it'd be REALLY awesome if you'd take a stab at incorporating that fix into this mod!

      USKP fixes bugs and exploits (among other things) Sounds like you don't want that - why not just play the game with console commands?

      I for one enjoy playing a bug FREE game and recommend the Unofficial Patches to everyone that wants to enjoy the game.

      For pretty much every change in the USKP that you might feel the need to revert to vanilla (e.g., necromage, follower/trainer gold loss), someone has made an additional mod that does so. Yeah, it's a bit of a chore to hunt those down, but the actual fixes found in USKP are worth the hassle.

      Given how USKP adds a few cheats to the game like the ability to summon weapons and atronachs even after your magicka absorption is at 100% and how daggers benefit from the fortify one handed enchantment i can see your concern regarding the credibility of the USKP .

      USKP adds a room to the Ragged Flagon with a bunch of beds so that the Thieves Guild members can go to sleep sometimes. Meanwhile, the Shield Charge perk script still stops working at random intervals, actors killed with paralysis enchants and killcams still bug out leaving unlootable corpses and floating weapons, you can still stealth roll without the required perk in multiple ways, merchant inventories can still be refreshed by agroing and reloading a save, you can still level your alteration from 15 to 100 in ten seconds by activating a Dragonborn power and fast traveling while casting telekinesis and powerlevel by continuing to do this without recasting the power as long as you keep the casting button held down, you can still pickpocket any actor with 100% success in the vanilla game by knocking them down and activating them during their get up animation so the game treats the inventory as a corpse container rather than a pickpocket interaction, Serana still gets stuck sneaking when you enter a different cell, you can still pick up and move objects anywhere within your draw distance using the follower order command, you can still level enchanting by disenchanting items you already know the enchantment for, NPCs still sprint in place when holding a torch because the animations still aren't properly linked, you can still get stuck in slow motion by entering a cell with your bow zoomed and reloading a save, killcams from a zoomed bow shot still drain your stamina, you can still level your destruction skill by damaging yourself with the Blizzard spell, ragdolled actors can still get stuck laying on the floor if you exit the cell while they're ragdolled, 360 controllers still vibrate arbitrarily in specific locations, you can still move at full run speed while sneaking by blocking with the shield runner perk, you can still walk right through a wall in Windhelm and out of the city, and you can still clip straight through any fucking wall in the game by bashing your head against a platter. Among other things.

      USKP fixed bugs and exploits at one point, but they clearly don't anymore. Now they add beds to places. If you enjoy playing a bug FREE game, uninstall Skyrim.

    It almost didn't make sense that they included 5 perk points when you can reach 90%cap at 2-3 perks.

      Depends on the value of the stuff you're stealing, the thing is, it's rare to find value loot like diamond necklaces and rings..

    Much thanks for this mod. Having to constantly load/save any time I wanted to pickpocket from someone I didn't plan on killing was driving me nuts. Another option I'd like to see rather than just setting the max to 100% is to change it so all NPCs that are not hostile react similarly to the guards when you get caught instead of always attacking. Maybe some dialog that demands gold or they'll summon the guards or something.

    BTW, this mod DOES work with SkyRe even though it changed pickpocket to fingersmithing.

    This mod won't work with Perkus Maximus due to a script (xMASharedScripts.psc) that sets fMaxPickPocketChance to 90. The top perk in the Dexterity Tree of this mod is called "Conviction" which increases pick pocket max chance to 100.

    No matter where I put this mod in my load order, it won't increase the pickpocket chance to 100.

    You can never max pickpocketing because the calculation includes the value of what you steal. Get all the perks, buffs, and this mod, then try to pickpocket a pile of 10k gold and you'll see what I mean. Reverse pickpocketing works the same way. Try to stick that super expensive paralyzing potion of slow death on someone, and you'll get maybe a 50%-60% chance when completely maxed out.

    Also the USKP doesn't "fix" the follower/trainer exploit, assuming it wasn't an intended feature in the first place that they shouldn't have fixed in something called a patch. It actually makes the gold go poof. Even if you kill your follower after training, the gold isn't there. I guess despite your companion's equipment being in desperate need of repair, he spend his entire reward on ale and whores...instantly, and without even leaving your sight.

    I think 100 is the way to go because in pickpocket success calculations, the target's pickpocket skill is subtracted from your's among other modifiers so you never really get 100%.

    I like pickpocketing because it's simply enjoyable. If you've ever played the Thief game series, then you've inevitably become a sneaking/stealing enthusiast. It may not be THE ultimate skill, and not the most useful - but whoever said it was? And why should it be? You can all argue that "there's no point" but I think the point is that its fun as hell to do.

    I personally set this to 99% not just because 100% is unrealistic, but also because this way pickpocketing is still fun. I still think twice about stealing from innkeepers and blacksmiths who I like and don't want a 1% chance to ruin relations with! Please everyone keep in mind that 100% will take the fun out of it entirely =P but it's up to you. To all non-believers: trust me, there's ALWAYS a chance that someone is going to notice your hand in their pocket. No matter how badass you are. I even think 95% would be even more realistic... but I use 99% JUST BECAUSE and for less trouble

    Excellent mod ty VERY much for including several options and such a simple process for making something so much better. This mod will always stay dear to my heart!

    I was hoping to find a mod that made pickpocketing more profitable without changing the perks (there's one that changes perks, but I'm using SPERG so I can't use it), but since there is none I'm choosing 100%. I assume I won't get near 100% until my skill raises so it's not like this is cheap.
