I love the idea with this mod, the only thing I am not super fond of is the .lip files seem to be a bit broken, at least in mine. They move there mouths a little once in a while but most of the time they are stuck with their mouths open or not moving their mouths at all. Is this a common issue for other people as well? I am using it on SE and ive got it in form 44 but i didn't think porting it would cause any issues, i just don't see anyone else mentioning any issues of this kind here.
Going to try the xtended version and see if that fixes anything but if it does, there is only 3 song choices for female young eager instead of the 4 from the other versions. :(
thank you so much , works wonderfully , now imagine walking to some inn for the night while two step from hell is played after long day :), it was a bit tricky to make it work but to simplify things to other you need to have the wav files that you need to use less that 15mb for size , then place it in the mod folder named \My Bard Songs\sound\voice\skyrim.esm\femaleyoungeager for example .
Hey can you explain how you inserted the songs? Did you rename the .wav files or did you have to edit the txt files? I'm not sure what to do after I have a >15mb wav file xD
I tried all 3 versions of this mod, with no other sound mods. I converted my .mp3s to 16bit PCM .wav files with Audacity. All 3 versions of this mod resulted in CTD.
However, I really wanted this mod to work so I did some testing.
The CTDs happen because the .wav files are to big. This is as close as I was willing to try.
16,3 MB (17 140 488 bytes) does not work. 15,3 MB (16 046 416 bytes) works.
No idea why 15MB seems to be the limit.
I did this by figuring out that the bard in The Bannered Mare in Whiterun sings from the 'maleyoungeager' folder.
I started with a 50Mb .wav, didn't work. Then I cut it to 5Mb and it worked. That's when I realized that it was the file size. I really*really wanted this mod to work. So i made my .wav smaller/bigger/smaller/bigger until I came to the result above^.
So, to make your songs under 15MB you might have to make some sacrifices.
The first thing i did was convert my files from stereo to mono, this reduces the filesize by 50%. In Audacity you need to select your track (Ctrl+A) and from the Menu bar select 'Tracks->Stereo Track to Mono'
If that isn't enough, then you can reduce the sampling rate from 44100 to 32000 or 22050. In Audacity you can do this by changing it from the bottom left corner, and then saving your file. If you do it from the menu, Tracks->Resample, it does not work. No idea why.
BTW: To save your file in Audacity go to 'File->Export'. You also need to add '.wav' to the end of the filename or Audacity will save it without an extension.
Both of these changes reduce the audio quality. The Stereo to Mono not so much, resampling more. It's not that bad. This depends on how much of a golden-ear you are, but don't reduce the sampling rate unless you have to. You can also cut the song to make it shorter and smaller, unless you want to roleplay and sit in taverns listening to your full songs, it's up to you.
Also, cut every second of silent audio from the start and end of your tracks. That should be an obvious one.
I'm not sure about the metadata part, .wav files should not have any metadata. I selected 'clear' and then 'ok' on all files.
This is how I made all my songs small enough. I hope this helps everyone with the problems regarding this mod.
I was looking around, and found something that might be relevant. I will say however, that I do not know anything about the particular files extensions mentioned, nor how the use of such files could be implemented.
•Due to a Creation Kit limitation it is impossible to link to .xwm audio files. The use of .xwm audio files is highly recomended due to its very high compression ratio. TES5Edit is needed to set the correct patch.
I use become a bard , and have been trying to find something or some how to use or play my 3mp in skyrim , before with become a bard I had everything set up right, just sound, people will dance character plays the lute, just no sound so that's why I can here from a search in nexus, In you description your for people to use Audacity. , audacity wont convert 3mp's alone, their help section tells you to download L.a.m.e to make 3mp viable with audacity, and I stall cant get those 2 to work together, ?? And the mention of the 4 other folders in the voice folder I just have one called argonian /shrugs so I don't know ... ??

I used songs by A Tergo Lupi, and the place feels very old world now.
