I tried to add this spell/power to one of my mage followers but I could'nt figure out how to do this. I even tried to create a new spell or a spellbook with the given butterfly-spell (all the resources, spelleffects etc.) via CK, so I could force my follower to lern that spell through reading the book.
I tried this mod and absolutely love the effect. My problem is, as mentioned below, the inability to turn it off. Even a butterfly adventuring elf might want to take her butterfly shield off sometimes. As it is, the most elegant way to 'turn it off' I found was to let a weak foe hit me 6 times then kill them; that is just a tad on the cumbersome side.I went into the CK and changed the 'duration' from 0 to 5 minutes and all that did was give me a countdown timer but the effect did not dissipate when the timer ran out. My ability with the CK is pretty limited. My guess is that changing the script for the magic effect might be needed and that is well beyond my ability without simple instructions.
If anyone has any ideas about how to more elegantly turn the butterflies off, I'd love to hear it. A spell to dispel would be ideal, but a timed effect would certainly be fine as well.
I'm going to uninstall and keep tracking this while hoping for a solution.
Edit: I just couldn't resist how wonderful the little swarm of butterflies was for my elf, so I installed the mod again.I also found an acceptable workaround to 'unsummon' the butterflies when desired. The console command Player.DispelAllSpells instantly banishes them along with any and all temporary spell/blessing effects.Basically it gets rid of the butterflies and anything that is on a timer, like buffs, blessings etc. Happily it has no effect on permanent abilities like standing stones, racial perks etc. A good workaround for those who want the ability to banish the butterflies when not needed.
Update: So using player.dispelallspells quit working for the butterflies after about one use. The command still works, just not on the butterflies. I tested by having the butterflies and candlelight active at the same time. Ran the command and the candlelight dispelled but not the butterflies - so I know the command is good. It just won't get rid of the butterflies.
I like the mod very much but would still like a more elegant way to dismiss the butterflies when not needed. What I do now is conjure a familiar, punch it a few times, let it attack and wipe out the butterflies, then kill the familiar. As I said, I'd love any better ideas on how to dismiss the butterflies when not wanted.
Woot! Brilliant, and it works wonderfully! Thank you very much. That was just the type of tip I was hoping for - simple, elegant and brings this wonderful mod back into my load order. Thanks again!
This mod seems like a nice defensive accessory for a female druid/dryad! Will this work with followers? If I manually add this Pulley's Butterfly spell to a follower (using EFF), will it work for her and will she be able to dispel the butterflies later (or will the spell's effects dispel/deactivate after some timeout)?
did you figure it out? if I remeber correctly the "spell" can be found under powers, once added to the player. after you activated the power with "y" (in my case, may be with "z" in your case) the butterflys start showing up.
once you activate it you can't turn it off ever again you are forever stuck with butterflies fyling around
Here's how you to improve your spell mods cause they have potential:
1. Add time limit so the spell will fade after amount of time 2. Add cooldown to your spells (time you need to wait before using them again) 3. Make a package instead making all spells separate and forcing us to do merged plugins 4. ADD CLEAR DESCRIPTION WHAT THOSE SPELLS DO/HOW THEY FUNCTION FFS NOT SOME DUMB RIDDLES.
I for one do not want the spell to fade at a wrong time, Yes it would be nice for it to have a cool down but a modders choice what can you do about it, And there is a clear description at least it makes sense to me its a lovely version of a shield that takes the damage and turns it into health, wheres the riddle?
Thankyou, I love it! Very beautifull, and playing with a char from level 1 to around 10 with this and Immersive creatures, it has been a life saver many times but not too powerfull. Changed it for myself in the ck though to be an apprentice lvl restauration spell insted of a power so that casting it even at full mana costs enough in lower levels not to have all 5 butterflies too soon - I like to be rewarded with more butterflies when leveling
