There's no normal map included? They're so easy to make with tools like Gimp, all you need is a simple plugin!
I'll keep an eye on this for now, but a normal map is pretty much a must-have for a texture like this. If you need help figuring out how to make one I can point you in the right direction, at least as far as Gimp is concerned (my Photoshop experience stems from over 10 years ago and I don't use it anymore).
UlithiumDragon, normal map included, but it flat. Good volumetric normal map may be only handmade. Gimp, Photoshop, Crazy Bump etc. - its only tool, they can't create the good normal maps itself. And it is need not for me, but for this retexture
I noticed that the vanilla logs have shading to help give the impression of "roundness", but, even though your texture is very good, especially in your awesomely-detailed grain of the wood, now since you removed all that shading, the logs look much more square, almost like flat planks. This would be perfect for squared logs, but it does not fit with the current ends of these logs, as they are still semi-rounded. (for 'vanilla' logs of this particular size, it looks like they're typically hexagonal, to minimize polygons, with some shading to give the effect of more "roundness".)
If you can keep your new, very nicely-detailed wood-grain intact while restoring some appropriate shading as before, it would bring back the "roundness" effect to your new, otherwise cool-looking logs. Your logs do indeed look unusually "new", as the old logs accurately looked very old, just like the City itself, cracked and damp-worn over time. If you wish to make your logs look just as old as Riften is, while still keeping your rich wood-grain pattern the same, maybe darkening and/or staining the wood might help?
Would you also be thinking of re-texturing other logs, log-buildings and various log-constructions (such as palisades) in other places on the map?^^ Judging by this, I have a strong feeling you could make them look really cool. Cheers, Nart!

Nart2007, good luck in work.
