I love this mod. I found it originally because I wanted to put a shack in the same place years ago. This mod has some advanced mechanics and is a hidden jem. I chose somewhere else to plop a shack and will always have this one in my list. I will never finish that quest! :) I use this on SE now. I recommend anyone that's into making mods check this one out and then check it out in the creation kit, it's good stuff! Very ahead of it's time and has on off lights back in 2014. So much going on behind the scenes in this one YAH!

One tiny bug that I found (spoilers!): if you place Freki's journal in a bookcase and try to read it from there, it cuts off at "a stranger by the name of" and the rest is blank space. Not a big deal because if you put it back in your inventory you can read it just fine, but I figured I'd let you know.
It's a cool house and a touching story, but I'm afraid that Hunting in Skyrim puts an animal den on the very spot I'm supposed to bury Freki. That seems a very unfortunate coincidence given the utility of both mods to a similar playstyle.
Hello, I haven't downloaded this mod yet, but it would be great if you could add a map view to the image gallery. I have another player home mod that might be close to this one, and I want to make sure they don't collide.
This is so well done, I don't know why this never showed up in my searches before. Excellent voice acting. The brief quest was great to experience if a bit sad. My gosh this deserves endorsements. Love it and great job.
Lovely mod! Freki's voice acting was really good, I love having a little quest to obtain player homes, and this one made my Orc feel quite reflective. And the house looks nice, too
Oh, and if anyone's wondering, the shack seems to be good for Frostfall, I only have mine set to Lite and have reduced the rate of exposure to 0.5 so it might be less good on the harsher settings, but there's a cooking fire pretty much right next to the bed so I woke up Warm.
I love this mod and the quest to obtain it was quite touching. After having completed Skyrim numerous times over, I now just play a hunter type character using Alternate Start and this is a perfect home for that and it is in my favorite location in Skyrim. I generally don't use human companions, just a small dog named Spots and he is quite happy in his new home as well. After a long day of hunting it is nice to sit on the deck and just relax and enjoy the view. I did invite a human companion for a cookout of some nice elk steaks and he also seemed quite content to sit on the deck and watch the sun set. I couldn't resist showing him the inside and he quickly made himself at home and I had to send him home before he got too comfortable This is now a staple in my mod list. Thank you for sharing your work. I hope you create more mods.
Like others who have dl'd a bunch of other "shacks", I think is the absolute best lore friendly starter home available on Nexus. No clever features that break immersion. Instead you can switch the lanterns on and off. Priceless!
I could make my own starter home with the CK -- I've created and discarded dozens of attempts. But I always end up adding way too much expensive looking stuff, which ruins the whole point. This mod keeps me (and my character) honest. Totally LOVE it!
