   I've had this problem, I think it was because I was using a non-vanilla race mod. I just went into the race menu and changed to a vanilla one and then did the vampire change part with Harkon and I was fine.

   I personally am against vampires but I just wanted to say what you did here I hope everyone in Skyrim modding emulates:
