Hello. Would you consider making a version of this mod with a mirror in player houses instead of the equippable one like you wanted originally?

From what I read below, the author isn't updating the mod anymore. He would probably give permission for you to do it. I haven't gotten into scripting, so I wouldn't know how to make a world object call a script when it was activated. My mods are simple things -- new textures and items with new enchantments.

I'm having an issue when I try to change hair style using this mod's item. The hair I had before stays on my character's head, and the new one is just overlapped with the old one and it looks very strange. I'm using precache killer and used Loot to sort mods after install. What am I doing wrong?

Hey RGM, I've ported your mod to Special Edition and would like to post on SE Nexus, is this okay? Permissions are open but just wanted to be sure, you would obviously be credited as the original author. I've also created a new plugin which is a sort of HearthFires "patch". All it does is edit the crafting recipe to include malachite (2) and glass (5) for those out there who use economy or loot mods and don't want the ability to change their appearance so easily. Let me know ASAP and I'll post as soon as I can. Thank you!

Out of curiosity, does this work for vampires? Or is it like the Face-Sculptor and won't work right?

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to answer that as I don't have Skyrim installed anymore, and though I probably tested it on vampires when I made it, that was 4 and a half years ago, so it's all kind of fuzzy right now. The only thing I could suggest is to save your game and test it, see what happens.

At this point this mod should be considered unsupported. It is what it is. It will either work for you or it won't

Love the mod, but it doesn't seem to work with Enhanced Character Creation too well, when I use the mirror it like, defaults my character's chin to poke THROUGH HIS BEARD. I'm able to work around it but it kinda sucks having to do that every time just to change some warpaint.

I have greatly enjoyed this mod for skyrim. I am wondering if you would be willing to upload it for special edition.

Just FYI, I'm using this mod myself with the Special Edition right now and it works just fine. You just have to extract the BSA file into loose files (I used BSAopt) and use the SSE Nif Optimizer to convert the meshes.

It works fine for me, and it's a wonderful alternative to the showracemenu command. It's a Godsend in helping you avoid all of the problems that showracemenu can give you when all you want to do is change your character's hair or tweak their appearance a little bit.

Tried it out, but I'm in no way getting the menu you're showing in your screenshots-all I see is the same menu I see with the face sculptor.

He's using a mod named racemenu.
Furthermore, he isn't using the last version, there is no icon in the latest version.

Thank you-thought it might be interesting to do multiple fur patterns on my Khajiit (and sorry I didn't see this earlier)

I was about to pm a mod author who has included race menu mirrors in his houses to see if he would consider making a standalone portable version, & decided to quickly google before bothering him just in case someone else has finally created one - I was so happy to find this mod I have done some testing & it seems to work perfectly - thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I recently posted on a forum about an idea I had and I described EXACTLY this mod. Soon after someone replied with the link to this mod. I can't believe it lol. We thought of the same thing, only, you thought it before I did. Well done sir! Downloading this!

I love this when it works. But unfortunately, even with the mod you suggested to keep the game from freezing, it still freezes about 9 times out of 10. I've tried opening it up in the temple of Kynareth, and in Breezehome, and I've had multiple freezes in both places. I never try to open it outside anymore because that never works. And when my game freezes, the only way to fix it, is to ctrl+alt+delete and sign out. I can't even open the task manager when the game freezes. So it's a pretty big inconvenience. Anything I can do?

Unfortunately I don't have any answers for you. I used to get fairly regular freezes outside, but since I installed the ShowRaceMenu Precache Killer by kapaer http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33526/? I don't recall having a freeze anywhere when using the mirror, and I use it a lot. I've been working on an armor mod that has a hat that goes over the hair without replacing the hair, so I am constantly using the mirror to change hair styles to see how the different hairs work with the hat, and I don't even consider now the possibility of a freeze or a crash because it has been that reliable for me.

I'm sorry it is not working for you. The only thing I can think of would be if you were using a custom race that wasn't setup properly. Like lets say you had a hairstyle that the race wasn't supposed to use, or it was using something that was supposed to be unplayable, then you open up the menu and the game gets confused and becomes unstable. That could happen if you changed races with a console command, which doesn't swap some of the head parts. I've done that myself when I wanted a highelf without the long chin, designed the face as a nord and then used the console to change to a highelf, so I got the elf ears but kept the nord face, and that did cause me some problems as I recall. Other than that I can't think of anything that would be cause the mod to be so unreliable. If I come up with anything else I will let you know.

I would point at ShowRaceMenu Precache Killer, as well. If you don't already have it, get it. That mod is essential. I run dozens of hair mods and eye textures in my game and have never had so much as a hiccup with the vanity mirror.
