looks like someone picked up the idea of scratches as remarkable points .. or had the same idea on his own ^^ (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53071/?) (looks a little brittle, in my personal opinion there could be some more harsh scratches too ^^)
but your weathered looks are just awesome also ^^ I keep tracking this mod, maybe your update will come
Different types of locks for each difficulty, ditch the text telling you how hard the locks are. Do it visually, cheap locks are easy to pick, the more expensive looking locks are harder and gold coloured Dwemer locks could be master locks. . Always thought it was a bit strange that all of Skyrim use the same lock design, even races that live strictly underground. All I can say is, it must be a very cheap and popular lock that everyone in Skyrim loves to buy.
It must be Oengul War-Anvil Locks(tm), its his masterplan to take over Eorland Greymane's title as Greatest Blacksmith of Skyrim. Or at least Greatest Locksmith of Skyrim.
All those locks in Skyrim, and not a single lock shop or seller to be found. Could do with a fancy locks shop, dealing with all manner of locks and designs... I had to make all my own locks myself, for my houses I built... . I wouldn't mind a lock that looks like a dragons head, or goats head or draugr, or a perfectly smooth one to baffle the thieves...
Must say the textures look really good! Those have a very good feel of old lock to then. Endorsed! Lets see who that scratches and stuff turns out! However I dont agree with some suggestions to make scratches work as a helper to open locks. It will make it look like the Grey Fox was all around Skyrim raising his lock picking skill.
indeed, it's very difficult to find a balance between natural look and remarkable spots in the texture
it's not just about scratches by lockpicks, some are a result from carrying the chest around or something like that .. and a significant rust stain could also work .. it's just about a texture, which is not homogeneous ... because in reality, only modern textures are homogenic
I can promise you that there is an update coming within the next few days to change the rusty texture (I think it might be too light) and also to add what I originally intended to add (with scratches for the lock and around the tip of the lockpick). Thanks for the support and I apologise for the issue with the first file, had I have known that you were having issues I would have made sure to remove it much faster, sorry.
Love it!! Heres an idea that I have yet to find, have a custom skin for Nordic ruin doors and chests and skin for dwemer doors and chests, And this new tint for all ither standard doors and chests. I know it's possible, just not very easy

And ?
That's a good idea, these little details enhanced the immersion.
