But... you can just put the axe back down. You're only stealing if you run off with it, although I'd be more concerned with why you're running off with an axe in hand more than the initial theft.

Thanks for this! I always wondered why you can't buy axes, no more weak twig campfires!

Maybe a mod you added had that as a tacked on feature. I know that neither the vanilla or frostfall put axes in stores.

Well actually Its easy if you go with Frostfall you can make yourself an axe. If you hang around in woodchop area you can get one free and not steal.

You need firewood to craft an axe in frostfall, which you also can't buy. Perhaps I should consider adding firewood to the general stores as well hmmm...
I assume the axes in the woodchop area belong to the woodchoppers even though the game doesn't count it as stealing it goes against my no taking things that don't belong to you rule.

Nobody is stopping you from dropping the axe after you use it. That's called borrowing and if the axe is lying by the chopping block and you LEAVE it by the chopping block how is there a moral issue? Hell, drop a few gold and call it "renting" the axe....

That's true, but wouldn't it be easier if you could just buy an axe? Doesn't it feel a little immersion breaking that you can pick up Daedra hearts at any alchemist shop, but no one sells the rare an elusive axe? It does to me, and that's why I made this.
