I would very much like to expand on Atvir. However, the .295.1 version of Atvir should be considered finalized. If I pick his development up again (which I very much would like to do), I will definitely post status updates. Until then, I have locked the discussion thread for this mod.
To those who are having issues using Atvir, you can try forcing him to use a follower mod AI overhaul like aft, eff or others. Also, please be sure you are using the unofficial patches, with an up-to-date game and managing your load order with LOOT. (also, please remember, no load order tool can be right 100% of the time). I have the version of Atvir downloadable from this page working in game, without issue. I managed this by following the advice available in the description. I can only recommend that users follow the install instructions, and if they are using follower AI overhaul mods, that they try multiple load orders if they get undesirable results.

I don't know how to install the patch ;-; Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong? I never did manually install any feedback for this would be great
Is there any way to modify his combat AI so he doesn't charge in like a Kamikaze all the time? Also it would be nice if he recognised when you were in sneak mode and kept his mouth shut at least even if he can't sneak himself, but at least he seems to avoid traps if I do, which is a major improvement over vanilla followers!
An option to limit his interjections would be nice too, it does get irksome to be repeatedly told how much he hates Argonians, needs new shoes or is hungry.
AsaRuth, do you have any plans to take Atvir beyond this? I believe I read somewhere that the original voice actor/author might be willing to record more lines. It would be interesting to see him become aware of some of the bigger mods, aka Falskaar, Wyrmstooth, Interesting NPC's, Vilja, Anduniel, Inigo...
The original modder did state on the original mod's page that they are willing to keep doing the voice for him when they get the time. A lot of good mods are being abandoned due to life taking almost all of their spare time, it's a shame but at least it brings in new eager modders and lets them get a hold in something good. I would personally like to see a romance option and his quest line continued.
Lol, it's never a question of whether life takes all your spare time in fact very few people in wealthy countries actually have NO free time, they generally actually have a lot more hours than even they realize without a proper time table to note it. It's a question of priorities, and there's nothing wrong with prioritizing other things, whether that be playing video games or sports, participating in volunteer work, dating and hanging out with friends, making a family or whatever. Just always thought it was amusing when modders claim they have "no free time" when everyone who says that I've ever met always has free time to read, watch shows, go out and do whatever else.

From the sounds of it if this guy and inigo were updated by their respective authors and actors to recognize one another with custom dialogue scenes they would be even more amazing than Inigo already is alone.
Because I just had an amazing idea I feel compelled to record it somewhere so here it is: Perhaps a not so simple example would be if you were to encounter Inigo in his cell for the first time while atvir is present, your dialogue response could determine whether it was you or atvir or even neither of you that was associated with Inigo's past.
Then all you would need to do in terms of further dialogue recording would be to add responses and inquiries to Atvir and allow him to trigger some of the player conversations himself, voicing the lines that would have been unspoken by the player.
I am very happy to see someone decided to push that amazing mod forward! Looking forward to see more : ) quick question: what armor is Atvir wearing in the screenshots? Look gorgeous and fits him perfectly
Thank you for the updates and fixes! I love this mod and I've been using it for a while, and I was so sad when I saw that the author wasn't going to update it anymore as I was looking forward to more narrative content... are you planning on releasing somethig on that front as well? I'm sure lots of people want to know more about Atvir...
I found the fix, and the error was on my end. AFT spell now works for me, even with SoS. It was a conflict with one the ERSO modules(Erkeill Real Skyrim Overhaul). BOSS was not sorting it right. Installing the newest version of BOSS(2.2) fixed this. That one module (now correctly placed) enabled the AFT spell to FINALLY work on him.
So, here's the fix that worked for me-->
(If you use ESRO) Load all ESRO modules BEFORE the Atvir's esp. Then Load Atvir BEFORE AFT's esp.
DONE!
The result is that AFT will not register Atvir by Default. HOWEVER---> if you then cast the AFT spell on him, then click yes after all the warnings, he will have a new option in his dialogue menu "Manage with AFT." Click this, and voila! Atvir now uses a follower slot AND is now managed by AFT! Just remember, this ties him to your game indefinitely, so you can NEVER remove Atvir's esp from your game once you do this, or AFT will crash your game.
I hope that fix works for everyone else. If you don't have ESRO or AFT, but you do use SoS, then I would recommend using AFT in your game SOLELY for the purposes of applying this fix to Atvir. I do not know how to sort the naked bug out with UFO or EFF (I don't use those), but with AFT, I can say that this is what worked with me. I now have what I wanted all along---> the ability to keep Atvir in my game AND manage him with AFT.

If my game had not started having weird errors, I would have NEVER have needed to investigate further, never reinstalled certain mods, never downloaded the new BOSS and probably would never had had a fix for this.I'm so glad to keep him around. Him, Inigo and Thorald are essential to anyone needing some badass male followers in this endless ocean of pretty little females.
