I love the idea.. a very useful addon, but please make it DPI scalable. It's hard to use when you can't find everythignwithout majorly oversizing it..

    Namaste...

    In response to post #17480679.

No, it specifically uses the NMM xml file for the data. Maybe in the future when I start using it I'll adapt it.

    Thanks.

I can't seem to get this to work on Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. I get APPCRASH with fault module KERNELBASE.dll, exception code e0434352. Any ideas on how to resolve this as this utility looks awesome and exactly what I need.

If you don't already have it, try installing the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages from:

Awesome, very useful in keeping track of the data folder it's now very easy for me to see what files each mod adds/overwrites. Already endorsed great mod, thanks.

I have some mods installed thru Wrye Bash now (only ESP/BSA combos). All mods with loose files are installed through NMM
    Started ME 3.5
Opened alright. Plugins were displayed. Selected a plugin with an overwrite. Sorted data files by overwritten status so that those with overwrites would be at the top. Selected a different plugin with an overwrite. Everything changed per normal. Sorted the plugins by overwritten status. Selected the top listed plugin with overwrites. Data panel showed incorrect mod data. For example: Interesting NPCs displayed Acquisitive Soul Gems data files. Attempted to sort by load order to see if the data panel information matched the original listing order in the plugin panel. Exception report above. Should have pressed the X to clear the current settings, I suppose.

Narrowed this down. Thought it was load order when I typed this up last night. Turns out it is actually Install Date on the Mod Panel.

I have some uninstalled mods. Guess it might be having trouble with NULL fields.

I tried sorting the mods panel by install date and it works for me.I have lots of uninstalled mods with no date shown. Do I have to follow the procedure in your first post and then sort by date?

I also tried following the first procedure your describe but get no exceptions. One part of your instructions I couldn't follow. Before the data panel showed incorrect data you sorted by overridden twice. The first time would have put the overridden files at the top but the second time would move them to the bottom. But then you say selected them from the top again so I lost you there.

P.S. Not getting tired of you.I do appreciate your interest and help debugging the mod.I would also appreciate some positive feedback now and then for the parts that you find are working well or just functional changes you'd like to see.

      Thanks

I've completely started over. Backed up the mod(s) I have been working on and deleted all mods and uninstalled everything with regards to Skyrim. Made sure everything was gone that could interfere. Then reinstalled Skyrim.

MO was removed. WB stayed as it was still in use for Oblivion. NMM stayed as it was in use for Morrowind & Oblivion.

      Running ME v 3.5
Import, install and activate an ESP/BSA mod via NMM, exit run ME click Install Date on Mods Panel, nothing happens only one file so it visually does nothing.
Import and install a loose texture mod via NMM, exit run ME click Install Date on Mods Panel, the two flip position.
Import but not install a loose texture mod via NMM, exit run ME click Install Date on Mods Panel, Exception identical to the one posted at the top of this thread group.

All that needs to be done for me to replicate is to click the Install Date on Mods Panel with at least one mod not activated.

I will try a fresh download of ME v 3.5. There is always the possibility that something corrupted, I suppose.

EDIT: A fresh download of ME v 3.5 with the exact same three mods in the exact same setup. A single click on the Install Date of the Mods Panel produced the exact same exception. I did nothing else but enter the correct paths.

I'm trying to find features I like honestly... I just keep running across more exception errors. The exact same exception error when sorting by NMM Number. The ESP/BSA combo mod is one that I made locally and installed with NMM. It does not have an NMM Number. So just like the Install Date, one field out of three was empty. However, the NMM Key field which also has one field out of three empty did not cause an exception.

After installing the imported only mod, the exception from clicking the Install Date went away for the moment. However, the exception for NMM Number remained because the one was not downloaded from the Nexus. One thing I did notice this time with the NMM Number exception, it happened when I clicked on it to sort and the bottom entry was empty. Repeated, every time the bottom entry and the bottom entry only is empty, I get the exception error. Pretty positive that would be the case too with the Install Date field.

What I want to see working are the override features. I want to be able to tell what loose file mods overwrites files from what other loose file mods. That way I know which mods to layer together (if possible) when creating a merged BSA. I will get there too. I just need to take it slowly since I've restarted from scratch.

This happened with 3.2 & 3.4. Cannot get 3.5 yet as it is not available at the time of posting (virus checking delay).

Switched paths and preferences to Morrowind from Skyrim. I have installed mods with NMM but have not downloaded any mods from Nexus through the download with manager link. I have the InstallLog.xml file but I do not have the Mods folder.

The exception follows (spoilers for forum view)
    Spoiler:
    Show
    ************** Exception Text **************
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
    Parameter name: startIndex
at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy)

    at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

After manually creating the missing folder as defined in NMM within ME's interface, this exception appears
    Spoiler:
    Show
    ************** Exception Text **************
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
    Parameter name: startIndex
at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy)

    at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

After ensuring every folder & file exists prior to launching ME and updating the paths/preferences to match, this is the exception:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    ************** Exception Text **************
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
    Parameter name: startIndex
at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy)

at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

I guess despite NMM being capable of being used with Morrowind, ME cannot. It would be nice to use ME with other games that NMM supports at least within the Bethesda game model.

These exceptions are only when you use it with Morrowind? Also, it doesn't give any line numbers with the exceptions?I may work more on getting it to work with FONV in the future, but probably not anything else since I don't have anything else installed.

      Only Morrowind.
No line numbers that I could see anywhere.
What I posted is the exception minus the loaded assemblies.

It could be anything from reading into the BSA, ESP files or the simple fact that Morrowind uses Data Files directory as opposed to Data directory.

EDIT: unchecked all options in the paths & preferences windows save for "Remember Window Settings", "Remember Last Search Terms" & "Remove Temp Dir on Exit"

No exception generated. I'll try to narrow down which option(s) caused the exception.

EDIT 2: This was in the messages window:
      File Not Found: C:\Users\AB\AppData\Local\\plugins.txt
I have an empty file with that name located here:
      C:\Users\AB\AppData\Local\Morrowind\plugins.txt

The actual mod data is listed inside the Morrowind.ini file under [Game Files] and appears as follows:
      GameFile0=Morrowind.esm
      GameFile1=Tribunal.esm
      GameFile2=Bloodmoon.esm

As a result the exception is repeatable whenever mod data is being accessed.

Not having the game to work with does make it difficult. I can understand if you do not want to include support for it.

For right now, lets chalk this up to interference with other mod manager programs. Because 3.2 worked before with Skyrim but 3.2 does not work when Mod Organizer is installed.

I have not confirmed that 3.2 or any other version works when MO is uninstalled. I do not wish to mess up my installation at this time (maybe later).

NMM can still be used outside of MO and I have in fact used it to install a local mod that I'm still testing/working on. ME should at least show that mod plus the base game data, but cannot (throws exception when attempted).

So are you saying that your NMM install XML file (can't remember the name offhand) only contains one plugin and it is not showing up? That should definately work even with MO installed. I also have MO installed, but I don't use it as I am still setting it up. ME works no problem for me.What's the exception you get?

It is identical to the ones I posted in regards to Morrowind. I'm going through the process of removing MO completely just to see if that does or does not have an affect.

MO is fine for profiles and testing but it has problems when it comes to mod making. I was most likely going to remove it anyway.

I'm going to have to say that it was due to something with how I had MO set up. Once I transferred all mods back to NMM and deleted all MO related stuff, ME works flawlessly with Skyrim (as far as I can tell) both versions 3.5 & 3.2.

I'm just going to leave it this way (NMM + ME) because of the script compilation issues that MO created for me.

Great program, thank you ! Already endorsed some time ago when you released the first version, but in fact I didn't test it at this time.

Now I just installed and launched for the first time the 3.3 version. A few little remarks, not very important :

    - the color scheme was dark. I went to the Color Scheme menu and "User" was checked. I changed it to " Default ", so it's fine but it's just a little weird that the very first time you run the program it doesn't use the default color scheme.

    - when I changed the paths in the Paths and Preferences menu, it reverted to the User color scheme (dark) when I exited the Paths and Preferences menu.

    - It couldn't find my InstallLog.xml file because it searched in C:\Program Files\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\Install Info. Again, you can change the path so it's fine, but FYI when you install NMM the default path is always C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager. Maybe you could use this NMM default path instead of the unlikely Program Files one (I say unlikely because if someone changes the NMM default path, I doubt he will put NMM in Program Files).

    - Same remark with the path of the game : C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim is unlikely, because according to the last Steam survey 75,88% of the Steam users have a 64-bit OS (http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/), so the most common path would be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam\Apps\common\Skyrim.

    - typo error : "Refesh all" instead of "Refresh all".

    I know that I am nit-picking, sorry.
