You can use winmerge to compare files too.

LOL. I never knew that was possible with notepad++.

Anyway, thanks for the neat utility, baal1980! I always wanted something like this.

That's neat, I didn't know about it even though I use N++ pretty much everyday. Thanks for sharing

"There are probably similar utilities available but honestly I couldn't find a tool I needed."

I'm curious at what you looked at (if at all) since every other file comparator does this.

I looked at INI comparers - there really are not many of these. I did not want to use tools like Diff, Beyond Compare etc - they either don't make it easy to compare INI file section by section, or I missed it.

Ideas to make this tool even more useful
    - Arrange (or Rearrange) the items on each section to have a common pattern, or by functionality.
    - visual difference (like highlight when items are the same by have different values), or when items are missing from one file

Sure, everything can be done. I'll try to update it when I get time.

Very handy YES we all know there are other tools that do this, still VERY handy to have well done.

At least it does something useful,we get around 5000 semi naked 48DDD girl mods a day and nobody is complaining about that.Very useful quick and easy to use,no learning process.

Neat! I wish it could save edited files as well. Thanks for the tool.

Like I wrote in step 6 - you can click on the blue/orange field AFTER you compared the INI files - this will open the INI file in your text editor (associated with opening INI files). Here you can safely make changes and save them, no problem

Man was thinking about something like this the other day. If you ever feel like expanding it for some reason, an INI merger could be a cool idea...

I use it everyday but I wanted something to split INI sections for convenience, that's all
