I agree, you'd think that the designers could have come up with something a little better. I'll give it a try. Heck, I've been using two diamonds placed end to end within the gem matrix, to make it look better.
Thats a pretty good idea you had there..its safe to say that some work needs to be done with some models meshes

Hehe Let me assure you, the problem is not conceptual...i wasted over 20 different looking textures and normal maps just to get something that i felt is "somewhat acceptable" to put up for download...the glow effect just messes everything up brightness wise,and the model is like an early PS1 game..
From what reading i've done on this...i think that the original texture was supposed to be semi transparent, but they never "enabled" it for that mesh.
