Euhm, one correction though! Your description says that bolts weigh more than arrows and therefor they have a more parabolic trajectory, and thus you made the bolts drop faster than the arrows ... Well, you're right about the weight, but completely wrong about the trajectory of a bolt! Bolts are launched by a mechanical system that puts A LOT more force on the bolt than a humane ever could do with a normal arrow, so yes indeed they weigh more than arrows, but they fly a lot further and faster than an arrow. So actually the trajectory is about the same, or perhaps even better than the arrows. Because crossbows used to be more accurate and hit a lot harder than a normal bow and arrow.
Ehhh you’re right about that crossbows launch bolts with more power, but as you can see in Skyrim crossbows are not so big so power is not so impressive too.Another thing is that you have only 2 types of crossbows Steel and Dwarven. Try to compare Dwarven Crossbow to Dwarven Bow and you will see that Crossbow have more power than a Bow and better range. In original game we do not have Daedric/Dragonbone Crossbows so this is nothing new that Daedric Bow or Dragonbone Bow is slightly better in range and damage than Steel/Dwarven Crossbow.Steel and Dwarven are low grade materials in game so do not expect that Steel Crossbow will be better than Deadric Bow
It's worth mentioning though that (I believe most) historical crossbows required a crank to draw the crossbow; the archer would have to actually plant the crossbow against the ground and work the crank like bicycle pedals. Since the crossbows of Skyrim just have a lever that you pull quickly with one hand, they wouldn't have much more draw weight than a large longbow.
hey my frinds, Mass does not affect the speed of falling objects, assuming there is only gravity acting on it. An object's weight usually will not change its falling speed. For example, you can test this by dropping a bowling ball and a basketball from the same height at the same time--they should fall at the same speed and land at the same time. On the other side, higher vertical speed makes bolts more accurate (even using old crossbows) so OP is right.
Is this mod incompatible with DServant's "Archery Gameplay Overhaul," or did I just install them wrong? Whenever I have both mods installed, I get CTD whenever I try to load a save file.
[EDIT] Never mind, AGO was the culprit. I thought I had gotten that dysfunctional mod to work, but I was wrong. This mod has nothing wrong with it, as far as I can tell
this is all i want from archery mods and im just asking but when manually installing i uninstal the plugin does it revert back to vanilla or do the changes in the skyrim.ini still change something?
i just want to say that since i put this mod in i have had arrows fly way higher than they should over a target, arrows fly through targets without even hitting them, and a weird effect where i hit someone with an arrow but as they fall the arrow stays in place until it falls next to them or floats in place. and i know the arrows flying through people and creatures happens because i tried to shoot a goat from the side barely 5 feet in front of me, the last kill thing goes off and the arrows hits it right through the center, keeps on flying and the goat tries to run.
I like the increased speed, but vanilla Skyrim itself has that feature where up to maybe 20-30m arrows hit above the crosshair. With this mod they fly faster, but they are so hard to predict - most longshots where I'd have to aim fairly above the target now require me to aim at the legs for the arrow to hit in the upper body. Any way to deal with this?
Thanks ProG4M3R. Your mod works perfectly as desired. Previously, I used to feel like clown walking through jungles with bow and my arrows seemed like throwing chopsticks at enemies. With this installed, I feel like Robinhood now. Now the archery got more realistic than before. Thanks for all the hard work, time, and efforts spent in making this mod. Happily Endorsed!
See I am a VERY good sniper and my arrows ALWAYS hit it target unless skyrim literally Pick up the NPC and move them JUST so I can miss. Does this mod fix that?
