Isn't this something you get used to after playing for like four seconds?

Sure. But, at least for myself, it was always a thorn in my side. It's uncomfortable. I feel like I have to monitor the mana bar to watch it use up the amount it needs to I can cast, otherwise I cast too slow. If I had my way, I would have made a mod that made spell casting instant, but added a .5 sec delay after it was cast, that would be ideal. But no mod does that. Some mods can simulate that though hotkeys, but when you're a mage you want to be able to actually equip the spells you attack with.

If you are unsure, give the video a watch and try it out for yourself. I doubt this is going to be useful for everyone.
If you don't think it's an improvement then don't use it.

Should you really have to 'get used' to something that's weird and rather silly (not in a good way, mind you)?

I always end up casting by sound, myself, so this will completely revolutionize my rate of fire.

does it include other spells-like habilities too? like the vampire lord's drain?

this is great idea actually.. specially since I never look at my bars when im in combat.. lol

    Thanks

I'm not sure. Probably not. I hate playing as a vampire so I never thought of it lol. I think I'll give it a try on my playthough though and see what you mean.

By all means though, this is not perfect. Not every spell takes .5 sec, the video shows the main spell I tested with, so it's perfect. But some spells take longer, though I made all the sounds .5 sec regardless. It's still better then before mind you, since the sound is short, and when you hear the idle sound for holding a charged spell you know it's ready. It's just not always pretty.
