This is my first mod ever released, so criticism as long as they are constructive are welcomed for the sake of improvement.

Vanilla Skyrim is for the most part completed now, any updates to it will mostly be just minor ones.

Hearthfire is now complete, had less items than I anticipated

Dawnguard is now complete, slight chance that I may have missed some items, but it will only be a small fraction.

Dragonborn is now complete, the results are a bit wonky because the DLC practically pulls a middle finger in the face of game balance. The current standard model of decomposition was nearly incompatible with the DLC smelting and just outright impossible for some items. But I gave it a shot and hopefully it'll work out.

Interesting mod, if I was to win a fight with some bandits wearing leather armor like leather armor, leather boots and iron armor pieces like iron boots, iron cuirass:

Would the leather armor pieces break down into leather or leather strips? Would I need to break them down at the tanning station (for immersion) or the smelter?
Would the iron armor and the iron boots breakdown into iron ingots at the smelter? (I assume yes)

The reason I ask is that I am looking at breakdown mods like yours, and while most do a decent job with metal armors, the last couple I have tried only give you leather strips instead of leather, and an iron bow only break down into wood when it should break down into Iron and Wood.

    Kind Regards,
    Koinonos

I believe Fur breaks down in leather strips and leather Armor into leather
I made this design choice because fur is armor and value wise the lowest of all light armor types and standardizing the decomposition value was impossible as it goes into the decimals. So leather strips were the choice instead as they(allowed from this mod) can be rejoined together into leather.

Very smart for substitute of allowing Lesser Material for Decimals rather than requiring more (As leaves back junk) to bad the way Skyrim did its recipes is 1 for every item when craft and 1 for tempering...if it was rules (1 Category Material/Highest to Upgrade off Main Recipe) then it would be easier to make Breakdown Mods ( 1 Lesser Material -Ore/Ingot/Strips- for Odd Number, 1 Ingot for every 2 Ingots used of Recipe, Smelt= Ingots & Ores Only as Leather Burns, Tan= Leather & Strips only...does ingot become Ore/Raw Material/Junk? or maybe change the Smelter into something for breaking everything down?).

From there if you could Breakdown using your ItemsUI so you can pick the Item (Or Even Multi-Select) then Smelt at once while see all the Items your getting (When Smelting you get that 1 Steel Ingot & 1 Iron Ore from that Sword)

Hey Love your System and how you showed it (All Armors Get this) was wondering if its weird to say this 2 things.

    1. Turning the Iron > Steel > Silver > Gold to ""Iron > Steel > Silver > Quicksilver"" and for Iron > Steel > Conundrum to ""Iron > Conundrum > Gold""

    2. Seeing as Skyrim only allows things to be Craft 1 by 1, is it possible to Switch between CraftUI and InventoryUI and smelt from your Inventory?

    Very interesting mod indeed!
I do have a question that I didn't quite catch. When you say you can upgrade or downgrade ingots to those of other tiers, do you mean like using two iron ingots to craft a steel ingot and so on?

      That's exactly what it means.
Also Corundum ingots and Quicksilver are 1 level above steel by the way since I didn't know where else to put them.
However one thing to note is that you can't directly change one ingot to another ingot of the same type. I'll change the description to better explain this.

      Thanks for the fast response!

Well, you definately got my attention, I'm gonna download to do some intensive testing.
Couple of things that worry me off the bat. The conversion thing seems like it could work quite nicely, but don't you fear it might unbalance the gain of higher tier ores. I'm talking right of my butt, but perhaps an exponential progression instead of a direct x2 gain? Just a suggestion.

Also, since I use ENB I donwloaded a mod to create lanterns, chandeliers, that sort of stuff to create my own lighting (this mod to be precise:www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28377/?) and I also use chesko's wearable lanterns. Now between those two I have about 4 types of lanterns when I open the crafting menu. I wonder, with your mod enabled, since I read that you where renaming all the vanilla clutter into single types, will something terrible happen to my crafteable lanterns?

I'm just using it as an example since I know there are mods out there that makes clutter useful and I know it's a very picky issue, I just thought I should ask. I'll test it myself and report the results, but so far, you've got my endorsement just for your hard work.

Keep the good stuff comming! =)

As far as I know no items in the game will be changed, deleted or altered except for some armor pieces(hold armors and forsworn). This mod is almost entirely just about adding recipes. So nothing will happen to your lanterns.

I'm not renaming clutter but rather I'm making it so clutter of the same class (dishes/cups/baskets,etc) are convertable by choice at a smelter.
The best way I can explain it is like this, the game has BasketA,BasketB,BasketC as a ID some are taller or smaller, but they are different in some way but their names are all the same "Basket" despite them being different items. My mod allows you to change Basket C and Basket B into Basket A at a smelter. Now why would you want that?

Because lets say you need 2 BasketA to get a firewood but you have 1 BasketA and 1 BasketB, the game won't allow you do get your firewood. But now you can turn Basket B into Basket A netting you 2 BasketA allowing you to get that firewood.

As for balance I haven't gone too deep into it as of right now, but i'll be taking it into consideration. For now I'm mainly focusing on just completing all the recipes for all the common items in skyrim.

One thing that might be a problem I am anticipating is the organization of recipes in the forge. As of right now all convertings of ingots and soulgems are done in the "MISC" tab. This is fine, but many mods which use this tab as well can make it so that the ingots are just completely separated by a gigantic list of other items.

I might make a separate file for this mod making the ingot and gem names like ingot-iron, ingot-steel, etc similar to the Better Sorting by Headbomb with some weight options so everything will be neat and tidy even with other mods included, but that isn't exactly top priority.

Tried it and played with it for a bit.
So far everything seems to be working, and as you said, all my lanterns where there =)
Now something that did catch my attention was the fact that under misc I could craft glass with empty bottles. Now some glass was worth 3 empty bottles and others was worth 6 empty bottles. Don't know if it's intended (using your example the whole "bottle a", "bottle b" thingie, thnx for the explanation btw). Also, I do have the mod Drinking gives you Bottles installed, don't know if the empty bottles you get when drinking from that mod have anything to do with it.

Going to bed now, good luck with everything!

Thanks for the responses, as for the glass I have a high suspicion that the empty bottle to glass conversion isn't my mod.
Since Glass itself doesn't exist in vanilla skyrim only in the Heathfire DLC. I'm willing to bet if you uninstalled the mod the bottle to glass recipe will still be there.

This could mean 1 of 2 things.
      1. You have Heartfire and the recipe is in the DLC itself
      or
      2. One of your other mods that has Heartfire as a masterfile made that recipe.
      I think its #2

Does this mod use item names to do its thing. I use the better sorting mod which renames items for well ... better sorting. Would this mod be compatible?

It does if you are using the Organized versions, the regular Normal version doesn't rename them so that one in particular should be compatible.
