Are there any alternative download locations for SRO? I dont use torrents much and have tried qbittorent and utorrent but neither seem to be connecting to peers. It states there are ~40 seeders but for some reason i is not connecting. This is the last mod I need to complete the install. Do you think maybe you can host that single mod somewhere for a direct download?
I remember using the TPC and another Texture combiner (forget the name) this was the same problem I had. Please for the love of all that is holy host that mod in a non utorrent form! lol
EDIT: Phew, after a few hours finally worked and got the mod, compiling it all now!
EDIT 2: Great guide overall. Great choices in textures. Only two things that I removed / overwritten. The mod for eyes I removed due to a glitch with the eyelashes on some chars and SMIM for whatever reason did not install 3D ropes, so overwrote that. Otherwise, endorsed and thanks for the hard work!
Hi there, apprecaite the comment. The tool does not support the latest version of SMIM, so please use the version directed to in the guide. You can also install MGT without SMIM, and then install SMIM on top of MGT, as SMIM takes priority over all mods.
Nope. Against the nexus site rules, and also a dick move. You have to download them from the people that created them, around here kudos and recognition is the only pay people get for all their hard work. Don't forget to thank from with a nice message and an endorsement. Don't forget to do the same for this mod if you find it useful.
I'm encountering a few bugs... I have these mods installed: glowing ore veins, all unofficial patches (latest) latest update, all dlc, skyui, skse, male underwear replacer, and thats about it. i have your config file, and i have compiled every single mod on the list except for variations of the same mod. i.e. high medium low 2k 1k. well, I have come to see many buggy areas. The thistles occasionally wave around spasmodically, and sometimes dragons come without textures until they die. I am on lowest graphics settings with lowest level of detail, fov, everything lowest, with medium texture quality. I'm mainly worried about the dragons. The whole thing setup correctly and I copied the files and activated the data files and everything correctly. I also don't know which mod is causing the dragon problems.
What kind of hardware are you playing on? The only thing that could explain any of that would be a really bad case of VRAM throttling. This pack is only suggested for people who have graphics with at least 1gb of VRAM.
There is your problem . The intel HD graphics has only 512mb of memory, and it uses a technology called "shared memory" to make up the rest of it. What this means is that it puts what should be in graphics memory in main memory. This helps performance sum, but its a far cry from real VRAM. When you are loading a lot of objects in a scene in skyrim, especially if those objects have high resolution textures on them, you will often see objects go black, or even objects go purple (which indicated a missing texture) even if there is nothing wrong with your game. Dragons in particular use 4k textures in this pack which is very big. That probably explains why they look black in your game.
I would recommend looking into a tool called DDSopt. You can use it to optimize and resize textures. If you resize all your textures to 1024x1024 resolution you should have much better performance. The game won't look as good, specifically normal maps will really suffer. The other option is not to use much if any HD textures at all .
No, I don't believe any of the textures have parallax maps. You could if you chose manually install SRO and supporting parallax maps from the parralax project. You would want to exclude all of langley textures for whiterun, solitude, riften underground, ect, the improved mountain textures, and HQ riften, college of winterhold, HQ farmhouses (from ananin), and perhaps a couple others. The rest of the textures should be compatible.
Maybe you could reword the title page to say that no textures are included, as it appears to suggest you have included other peoples work when after downloading and reading the full info it seems you have just included links to the mods.Just a suggestion so you don't have people like me telling you you need permission off the mod authors lol.
This mod takes many of the great works done by the talented texture artists on the nexus, and combines them together to make one big, super awesome texture mod....This...it seems to say that this mod is full of texture mods, which would require you to have permission from every author, it doesn't mention that you don't actually include any of the textures and that you need to download them yourself.
Pretty interesting idea, going with a sort of 'core STEP' texture list. It'll definitely all go well together! I'd always install the various parts of the aMidianBorn Book of Silence though, because I think it fits skyrim perfectly. Your config doesn't have any weapon or armour texture mods at all (not including the shield textures you've got in there) from what I can see, so you're just using vanilla (or hd dlc vanilla) textures for now? good luck
The pack uses silence more or less exclusively for weapons and armors, with a few other ones, like primeHD and pride of nightinggale, and a couple others.
