The MCM menu seems to show up when ever it wants to for me. Sometimes its there, other times it isn't, and mods with MCM menus loaded before and after show up just fine. I tried typing "setstage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1" and still nothing. After making sure all of my scripted mods were loaded before 7F I decided to look through tes5edit and the source scripts for a solution, but this is the only error I found:

    TGCrown "No Stone Unturned" [QUST:0009DD77]
    [00:00] QUST \ VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter \ Data \ Quest VMAD \ Script Fragments Quest \ Aliases \ Alias \ Alias Scripts \ Script \ Properties \ Property \ Value \ Object Union \ Object v2 \ FormID -> [01000D62] < Error: Could not be resolved >
    [00:00] All Done!

It points to a property in the script TGCrownSSoBMaintenance called SSoBDebug Mode that appears to be missing in the psc file. Could this source of the problem I'm having since the property is missing from the script?

The only option in the MCM is for the quest markers, and you can use the console to toggle those if you need to as a workaround.

As to the source of the bug: I'm not sure whether SSoBDebugMode is related. What I can tell you is that SSoBDebugMode was completely removed from the new version, and TES5edit is correct that the script no longer has that property. So, if you're seeing errors related to it, you probably either have stuff left over from the old version (I'm not sure how that could have happened), or you tried to update to the new version on an existing save, which I explicitly recommend against in the installation instructions.

Anyway, if the stones are stacking, then the important part is still working.

No MCM version doesn't have this error, the MCM version still does though. :)

whelp this has issues on my game, new game and insta crash, only mod i installed and havent had this issue ever. So tried last save also and same thing. Once mod was gone, i could start a new game perfectly. So this has hard conflicts with some other mod, no clue which since I dont have any mod that changes the stones quest. Only one i can think of is better quest marks.

Using the check errors function in Merge plugins mod, received this message:

    Checking for errors in SSoB.esp

Is this mod compatible with USKP? I heard that USKP changed the location of a particular stone. Moreover, i found that this mod overwrites qf_tgcrown_0009dd77.pex and the .psc counterpart when using alongside USKP. I'm using MO to install my mods. Is this okay? Or is it a compatibility problem?

Actually the stone that got moved out of the Thalmor Embassy was covered by an official patch.

So, do you mean it is safe to use this mod alongside unofficial patches (USKP or USLEEP)? It's because this mod will obviously overwrite the USKP/USLEEP's changes, due to load order matter

I'd like to know this as well. Does forwarding USLEEP fixes break this mod, or no?

The version of this mod with the MCM menu isn't working for me. I don't have any other mods that mess with the Stones.

Apologies for making another request... but is there any chance of making a version compatible with Non Quest Locations for Stones of Barenziah, or maybe a patch?

Have you tried the two mods together and found that they actually are incompatible? If all that mod does is move a few of the gem activators to different places, then it should be compatible as-is.

Sorry for the very late reply, I didn't try both mods in-game as when I checked in TES5Edit I saw that you both edit the TGCrown (No Stone Unturned) quest and there's a lot of conflicts.

Really wish you had replied back sooner Old Nick, because I used both of these mods together under the assumption that they would work together based on what Greek said. Now my stones quest is permanently broken and nothing I do can fix it. The quest is telling me to talk to vex but she had no dialogue options about the stones, plus the quest itself had no description.

Sorry about that. It's surprising to me that they're not compatible; I wouldn't have guessed that the author of that mod would need to modify No Stone Unturned in order to move the gem activators.

That said, I consider Stackable Stones complete, and I don't plan on making compatibility patches.

@Newe6000 There's one way to restore your game if it's "permanently" broken. You'll lose everything, but regain the possibility of having everything again in return.
Delete all of your saves. Uninstall Skyrim. Go to Documents>my games and delete the Skyrim folder there. Enable the showing of hidden files on your computer. Go to C:>Users>(Your username)>AppData>Local and delete the Skyrim folder there. This is a "clean uninstall". I had one version of a Werebear mod from Steam on my PC, switched to a non-replacer version. Ever since, it caused a CTD every time I went to Beast Form in the menu. After finding and deleting those two "hidden" folders, now my game plays extremely well, and I have NO CTDs caused by Beast Form.

How to use Stackable Stones of Barenziah with Optional Quest Markers - No MCM Version on an existing save (do at your own risk):
    - install the mod
    - launch the game through SKSE; create a new save, close the game
    - move your My Games folder temporarily to another folder e.g. your Pictures folder (this contains your skyrim save files; usually located in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEHERE\Documents)
    - launch the game again through SKSE, start new game with all the mods you had enabled in that save you made a while ago, go through all the opening sequence
    - once you get to the race menu part, when you save the character's looks and race, name the character the same name and with the same race as your old saves
    - after Hadvar recognises your race, save the game
    - enter into the console "set SSoBGemMarkers to 1" without the quotation marks
    - enter into the console "setstage TGCrownMisc 10" without the quotation marks
    - exit the console, then save over the save game you made after Hadvar recognised your race
    - exit the game
    - move your new My Games folder to another folder e.g. your Downloads folder (not in the same folder you moved your original My Games folder!!)
    - move your original My Games folder back to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEHERE\Documents
    - now double-click your My Games folder, inside is a folder named Skyrim, double-click that
    - inside there are two folders and a text file, double-click the folder named Saves
    - look for your latest save file
    - - - in my case it's Save 22 - Mara Riften 37.05.54.ess (skyrim save file) and Save 22 - Mara Riften 37.05.54.skse (skse save file)
    - backup your latest skyrim save file and skse save file (I copied mine into my Music folder)
    - remember that My Games folder you copied to your Downloads folder (or wherever you pasted it)? Go into it
    - once inside that folder, double-click the folder named Skyrim, then double-click the folder named Saves
    - it should contain your new game save file
    - - - in my case it's Save 3 - Mara Skyrim 00.14.41.ess (skyrim save file) and Save 3 - Mara Skyrim 00.14.41.skse (skse save file)
    - rename the skse save file to the same name of your latest skse file
    - - - in my case I renamed "Save 3 - Mara Skyrim 00.14.41.skse" to "Save 22 - Mara Riften 37.05.54.skse"
    - now copy that renamed skse save file into C:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEHERE\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves
    - it will ask to replace the latest skse save file, let it

    It's time to test it:
    - launch the game through SKSE, click continue
    - once the game loads, enter into the console "set SSoBGemMarkers to 1" without quotation marks
    - exit the console, save over your latest save game
    - toggle the "No Stone Unturned" quest, press M to show on map
    - when the map shows up one should see a bunch of quest markers on where one can find Stones of Barenziah

    Notes:
    1. Regularly, when you enter into the console "set SSoBGemMarkers to 1" on an existing save, the console prints out "Compiled script not saved!". If everything went swell, when you test it, the console should not print out anything, meaning it worked.
    2. Do at your own risk! This worked for me, it might not work for you. That is why I said to backup your latest save file.
    3. Mara isn't really my character's name, I just used that as an example xD"

Doing the steps above will let the quest markers to show up, and the stones to stack.

Anyway, good job at this modder, mod endorsed! :)

UPDATE: Doing above steps will let the quest markers to show up, and the stones to stack, HOWEVER, the stones stay named Unusual Gem instead of Stone of Barenziah. So if you haven't done above, PLEASE DO THIS INSTEAD:

      - make sure your Unusual Gem has been appraised by Vex (or enter into the console "setstage TGCrown 20" without the quotation marks)
      - enter into the console "setstage TGCrownMisc 200" without the quotation marks
      - enter into the console "setstage TGCrown 20" without the quotation marks

This should fix the nicknaming (that the Stones of Barenziah be named Stone of Barenziah in your inventory instead of Unusual Gem). I can't test this myself, as I've finished the quest (the 24 stones have been removed from my inventory and I received the Prowler's Outfit no problem so I don't think this broke anything) so if someone else could test this, that would be great (and help out other people! :) ).

Again, do this at your own risk. But if you do do this, please follow the steps on /this/ post, and not on my first post. Also reply to this post so that the rest would know if this works. Thanks!

      >> Finished the quest, 24 stones removed from inventory, received the Prowler's Outfit, so I don't think doing this broke anything. The Crown of Barenziah at the cistern offers an activate button but does nothing, but I think that is a vanilla thing.

Thank you for sharing this very helpful mod.

Keeping the original version available is much appreciated; the last thing I need is yet another MCM entry for a mod with just one option.

    Endorsed.

However the new version also has some fixes, any chance we could get an optional file with the fixes but no MCM?

Yeah, it would be easy to provide a version without an MCM. Right now it's the work-week, though, so I can't promise that I'll deliver immediately.

I should create a framework for rolling lots of little single-option MCM menus into one menu.

Would it be easy for me to do in the meantime, before I install the mod?

Is it just a case of deleting "ssobmodconfigurationmenu.pex" from the BSA, or would that break something?

Actually I looked in TES5Edit and I see the script name SSoBModConfigurationMenu mentioned in your modified TGCrown (No Stone Unturned) quest, I'm afraid I'm out of my depth

Probably not. I would guess that that mod has to modify No Stone Unturned, in which case it's incompatible.
