I can't count how many times this mod has saved me since I first installed it. Getting to the Throat Of The World as a walker, even as a vampire, is extremely deadly and this shack provides the shelter I need to wait out the blizzard that seems to happen there 90% of the time. Thank you so much.
So I finally visited the shack and I was freezing by that time. I was disappointed that it was still exposed to the weather. You said you moved the weather but I didn't seem to warm up inside. I would rather it be a closed interior with a fireplace.
I did move the weather slightly but not too much so there isn't an obvious gap in the weather space. There are also several factors to consider here too.
1. Did you attempt to warm up outside first? 2. How was your W.E.A.R rating? 3. What time was it? 4. How was the weather?
In vanilla Skyrim, rain and snow clips through shacks. I recommend using Real Shelter to counter this, otherwise, you're out of luck here as it's a game engine issue.
It was snowing hard outside. I went inside the shack long enough to know that if I didn't build a fire I would freeze. So I built a fire at the entrance to the shack and stood inside the shack to warm up about 1/2 way. I was thinking I should be able to remove all the frost from my meter instead of only 1/2 of it. That's what a shelter is for. There is no way I could survive sleeping in that shack (to be honest I didn't try, but maybe next time I will save and try that to see what happens).
After I got warmed up as much as I could at the shack I basically had to sprint the whole rest of the way to the top and barely got there about 90% frozen!
Yes I understand about the fire outside, but in a blizzard that will only allow me to be 1/2 dead from cold instead of all the way dead. You have to understand that if I spend a couple days in Breezehome even with the warm gear I have I will still get "very cold" unless I warm myself by the fire.
I would think a "pilgrim's rest" shouldn't just prevent me from freezing to death but should allow me to sleep by a fire so that I don't wake up frozen to death. As it is now it's more practical for me to build a fire outside and pitch my tent next to it for warmth. I'm not slamming your mod, I am thankful for it to keep me from freezing. I was just hoping for a little better shelter, especially for a mod that is advertised to be used by Frostfall users.
nice idea, and good starter home....but the campfire aint enough to get warmer so you actually have to pitch a tent, seems a little redundant since you're already at home...and fast travel might be immersion breaking for frostall users, but sometimes its still nice to speed up things a little, so a map marker would be a good thing too, imo
Well, just in case you didn't read the description, I better tell you that it's not designed to be a home, even if it does have safe storage and such, so a map marker would be useless because there wouldn't be any reason to go back. Getting by the fire is enough until you can get inside and I moved the weather so it's a little out of the way. It's just a place to stop, warm up and relax.
So where exactly is it? I made a little cave-home on the way to High Hrothgar some time ago that's near where Karita the pilgrim is, and I was wondering about compatibility
Your dying from exhaustion, you need to rest from after walking up 3/4 of the Seven Thousand Steps, you see the shack, you cry. You see troll right above it you cry.
Tthe limit depends on if the person is using 64-bit Windows or 32-bit Windows. 32-bit Windows has a hard limit of 3GB of ram for an app with the large address space flag set and is using an Nvidia card - ATI users are limited to 2GB for any recent version of Catalyst (in 32-bit Windows), and AMD says that won't change. With 64-bit Windows running a 32-bit app with the flag set, the app gets the full 4GB of ram the CPU can access in 32-bit mode. So with 32-bit Windows and an AMD/ATI card, you are stuck with 2GB ram max, and only half the mods someone else can run with 64-bit Windows.
BOSS is flagging this mod as a Unrecognised Plugin. I used NMM to download and install it... I don't what to run it until its recognised. Game is running smooth at the mo.
Boss is showing this "The following plugins were not found in the masterlist, and must be positioned manually, using your favourite mod manager or by using BOSS's user rules functionality. You can submit unrecognised plugins for addition to the masterlist directly from this log by clicking on a plugin and supplying a link and/or description of its contents in the panel that is displayed."
Now how does one do this. On the submit plugin, would the download location be where NMM downloaded the zip file to?
Cheers, Boss says its submitted it and updated. Will this mean when I run BOSS again it will not show as a unrecognised plugin.. Yes am a little noobis when it comes to the BOSS system.
Glad you sorted it out and submitted it to BOSS. Yes, it would have unrecognized since I only submitted it last night! But sitting it at the end would have been fine, as long as you have no other mods that conflict with the area.
KK yeah its at the end of my load list. So give a couple of days Boss will recognize it sweet. Thanks for this mod, makes the long walk a little easier in frostfall

::EDIT::
Also, I believe there is a wild edit in Alchemists Shack (FormID:000CE5A1) and FormID 00106D13.

Maybe my unstable game is because of something else...
