The armor works except for the helmet. Everyone is missing their head. A shame. I am really tired of seeing the Roman Style armor in an Elder Scrolls game.
Hi! I use the mod but there is a bug with the helmets of some npcs who have long hair or certain hairstyles! you can see the hair clipping with the helmets! Is there any solution for this!
I had actually planned on rebuilding it from scratch in SSE, try and do it better so it doesn't have all the same incompatibilities and issues this one had, unfortunately.. its not as easy as i'd hoped.
For the most part SSE is backwards compatible for mods made for Skyrim, but its not perfect, the armor models i used in this mod seem to be in the category of "doesn't work".. which means in order to remake this mod, i need to convert the armor models to work with SSE, which i'm not entirely sure how to do..
I don't have a lot of free time to work on mods, which is probably why i only ever released one in the whole time skyrim has been out, but i'll have a look, but unfortunately until i can figure it out and find time to do it, porting this mod is on a to-do list longer than i can figure out.
But its a free concept, so maybe someone else will get it done before i do.
I managed to get together a working SSE version, doesn't replace the solitude guards and its not the best in the world, has a bit of a problem with hair clipping, but it doesn't use a .esp, its just a mesh replacer. So it should be a lot more compatible at least with other mods.
Small problem as well. The imperials change into gondor armor except for their cuirass. then some solitude guards dont change into their gondor armor at all, they keep their old armor
apart from that, all is well, my characters and pets(companions) can wear the armors no problem. any suggestion? i already did trial and error on the mods i have.
This mod is amazing! But I noticed that only about half of the guards are wearing the amazing armor. Is this a current issue w/the mod or is it more likely that I messed up somewhere? I have the armor, armor texture fix, and the solitude re-texture mod installed and working. If I have a mod that adds remodeled armor for certain body types could that possibly be overwriting this mod?
I really needed this, the presence of Ancient Romans {I'm Italian, nothing against them anyway, all the contrary} has always irritated me, I always felt them so out of place in Skyrim... they must be obviously a fetish of some guy at Bethesda {thanks so much for this awesome game, guys!} but getting rid of them, at least as aesthetics, is priceless to me and saved me time to do something like that myself. Not sure about the choice of LOTR as substitutes but I'm ok with that, the visual connection with the books/movies is less intrusive than it was the one with Romans. This armors style is definitely more lore-friendly than Romans style itself, if it's clear what I mean!
So... cudos to your idea Jimm607 and my endorsement to your mod, looking forwards for further improvements and for more aesthetic variations as well eventually.
Hmmmm.... No? The roman-style is the more lore-friendly one. Imperials were full on roman-styled, except in Oblivion. Are you one of these guys that think Talos is just one guy?
