Hey guys, so I am probably not going to update this mod any further. I'm quite satisfied with where it is right now and I really do appreciate all the support. The mod has not gotten enough attention to keep me attached to it. I will occasionally check for bug reports, and if you guys are having major issues with the mod, I'll look into it. However, since I'm fairly good at modding and scripting now, you can expect some new mods in the future! Cheers!
why is it that I have installed this mod and am able to make all the wands but cant find spells to equip to them ??? wand spells should be in the shouts section yeah?? but there not...
there's like 3 parts in the description where it explicitly says it's not a remodel of the staves, as well as an entire video showing that it's not, lol. it's not even close to the staves, it's a new weapon class.
Samoja isn't wrong. This really is just a staff replacer with custom animations (the spells aren't custom at all, they are completely vanilla), nothing more. All of the things that these wands can do, so can staves. Using staves would be absolutely no different than these wands seeing as how the spells are all exactly the same, and all get leveled the same way too. The ONLY reason to use this mod is if you are a hardcore roleplayer.
You are really wrong Samoja, try watching the videos or testing the mod before commenting. Don't underestimate the wonderful work of this mod with your ignorance.
DeadlyDan, if you were a hardcore roleplayer you wouldn't use wands, wands like these aren't lore friendly, enchanted sticks/wands may exist, but they are useless and only bought by people with no magical knowledge whatsoever.

If you want to call hammers, daggers, clubs, maces, spears, and great swords "remodeled swords with custom animations," Sure, but the implication that it is a bad thing implies that we should also take away all weapons and just use swords, not different swords either since they are just remodels of another sword, but just one sword.
Even slight differences are significant enough to improve game play, and being "like something else" isn't a bad thing.
Except wands do use a different mechanic drawing from magicka and stamina instead of a charge like a staff, and staves don't block very well. Wands produce a mini-ward on block. If giving a weapon +1 attack and -.1 speed is worth creating another weapon class (hammers), or -2 attack +1 speed (daggers) and calling it a "different" weapon, surely the different between these wands and staves merits calling them different.
also, to replay to another post. Gust is not a vanilla spell, nor a spell you will find in any vanilla staff. WoS is also not a staff "replacer" since it doesn't do anything to staves. Staves are still in the game. This adds another weapon, it doesn't replace staves. With wands, you don't have to burn through soul gems, with staves you do. Ergo, they are different. Wands are also much easier to make, so you can create a wand and a much lower level than you would be creating staves.
nice idea but try to hit one person in a large brawl - say a Master Vampire being attacked by half of Solitude - and the Swish and Flick motion becomes very dangerous. It is possible to hit basically everyone else around it like an AOE spell. So, not to be used lightly in cities or towns.
"1st person spear and rapier animations" isn't too bad of a mod, but it replaces 1h sword (maybe axe and mace) with a stabbing animation. Works quite well for the wand too!
Hi ! Thanks for this awesome mod ! It works absolutely perfectly, however if you don't mind I'd ask a little question. I created a few little spell mods only for myself , just for my own entertainment, and I've tried to adapt those spells to the wands. It would be so awesome if you could help me out how to make a spell that is equipable to the wand so the fun could be even more epic. I would not upload it to anywhere, it's simply for my own purpose, if you are still reading the thread and this, I would really appreciate some help.
yes i did, basically search for WOSContainer or something like that ( been a long time, i don't remember ) in the CK, and there will be some spells inside. Just change those and it should work.
Hi I've also been trying to create some new spells for personal use with this mod too. I've attempted to create a Lumos spell (Magelight) to be cast through the wand, but all I've managed to do is create a new shout type effect in the Creation Kit that won't work through the wand. I've tried searching for a WOSContainer in the CK but can find no such file. I know all the wand spells are treated like a lessor power, but classifying new spells as such only creates new shouts instead. Any chance you or anyone remembers how to do it?
There's also the "Finger of Death" Spell on the Apocalypse Spell Mod that works exactly like "Avada Kedavra" I'd love to add at some point along with the calm spell for a "Stupefy" effect, but if I can work out how to add something basic like mage light first then I should be able to work out how to do the others.
