Is this .esp recognized by BOSS? I am shopping for a darker, more realistic night. I used COT night level 5 but I noticed it actually makes the fires and lights dimmer and looks terrible. I need something that is recognized by BOSS and will definitely curb my decision. Thanks in advance for the reply
Try realistic nights for that. I haven't used it in conjunction with COT but it does make the nights darker and leaves the lights alone. In COT I actually use level 7.
does the mod change the insides of inns during the daytime? like anywhere that should actually be brighter during the day, all the darker light mods i find seem to change the inside of inns all the time and its not very realistic i guess
I wouldn't say totally unrealistic. Interior lighting should only be based off of candles or fires. There may be some stream of light during the day from windows - if there are windows - but pubs, bars, etc. are meant to be dark with the ambiance of hiding in the shadows drinking and smoking your pipe.
I am still going to give this a try as I really wanted a darker look for my exteriors too without an ENB, but Climates of Tamriel keeps crashing on me when I have the patches for the DLC installed... I have all the DLC :< Ah well, I will still give this a try none-the-less.

this mod doesn't use an esp. It goes in your skyrim folder. it does not need to be registered by boss or sorted. XD and it does not have the CoT filter effect, I to do not like how it does that!
After a lot of people started recommending SweetFX as opposed to ENB to run on my potato, I'ma give yers a try. Or rather this insy winsy little option. It looks like it's right up my alley! I'm using Imaginator some too though, for coloring and added flare. :o With the MCM menu, I'm not getting bloated saves like I did back in the day, so, I'll give this ago, take some screens on my potato of a rig, and if they look pretty enough, I'll post them back to you. That sound okay?
Endorsed, thank you. Was not able to make my nights dark enough even though I am using REalvision enb with COT, and using the COT max file for dark nights.
One question: When a person is right in my face, like my follower, at night he is still mostly black like if he was inside a dark closet. The surroundings are not pitch blakc, just him and nearby objects like a tree. If I light up a torch all is fine. I suspect there is a single enb setting to tweak but no clue which.... Any hints?
I don't use ULO plus, but theoretically this should work for just fine for it. Just make sure to use the proper proxy settings if it uses an ENB as well (I think it does, I can't remember) I added some stuff to the description detailing how to do this. If you try that, let me know please.
I really like ULO in general, so I do intend to continue support for this mod and possibly more presets for it. ULO is the best sweetFX mod on the IMO. Keep in mind I've released two of my own lol and I still use ULO with this preset over my own sweetfx mods
Hallo ArtMurder! Ive just gave that a try with ULO plus. Obviosly its working as you predicted, and installation is even simplier than ULO since proxy settings are already included in enblocal provided by VoidNull. Unfortunatelly effets Ive obtained are not as good as yours since I have no COT installed, howeover interiors with ELFX are looking very good.
