This mod looks great to me, but does it assume that 1 unit of weight in Skyrim is equal to 1lb? I always thought that a more accurate conversion was 1lb = 2 weight. That would still make the weapons way heavier than they ought to be (the steel sword would weigh 5lbs, whereas an equivalent arming sword in real life would weigh about 2lbs).

I don't think so. If you check the newest update to SE Skyrim, as in the survival mode beta, your weight carry is severely dropped to ~110 or so. That makes me think it is more of a direct conversion.

the math I found ages ago had 1lb = ~2.5 weight units?

Medieval Weapons are actually a lot lighter then people realize. Long swords (2 handed swords) weighed about 2.5 pounds.

Nice idea and I agree the default weights are really off, but I don't think you can compare the game weapons to realistic weapons. They are much much thicker than anything I have seen in real life. Almost comically so. Maybe something like realistic weights x2 or some other number to account for thickness.

Well, the thickness is unrealistic, so if we're going for realism here, it's the thickness that should be reduced, not the weight augmented.

Staffs weigh with this mod 6 lbs... That is the weight of heavy 2H WarHammer... A full-sized bo weighs about 1.6 lbs, so definitely not more than 2 lbs that is the weight of a middle sized working hammer...

I had no idea this existed and very happy that I found this mod. The ridiculous weight of the weapons was driving me nuts. Thank you and endorsed.

I agree with this, but you have to reduce the maximum carry capacity then...
"An Army Science Board study in 2001 recommended that no soldiers carry more than 50 pounds..." make it 80...

Just a friendly reminder to everyone - after installing this mod, you can further tweak any item's weight you want from inside the game using another mod called Customizable Weights.

I have no idea why this mod doesn't have more endorsements, it's absolutely perfect. The vanilla weights were ridiculous, and this lets me carry so much more loot lol. Endorsed, thanks!

@Teo265 - I'm not sure what the problem was there -- must've been using this mod for a while and then made the post in reference to an old version. Stupid mistake. I downloaded the newest one a couple of days ago when I came back to this game and the Ancient Nord Greatsword registers just fine at the weight the esteemed Turkey intended.
