I'm an Olde Tyme Daggerfall and Morrowind fan, so I enjoyed this mod since it was released.

But I just took it out and I can't move at all!

So I'm going to put it back in and increase carry weight to double before I stop moving.

Hopefully, my game is not stuffed!

If it can be safely uninstalled, I'll endorse it.

    Cheers!

If you are still running the mod, then make sure you aren't overencumbered when you remove the mod and you'll be able to move. However, unless you have SKSE's INI setting ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 set. If you don't have that, then again while able to move normally, use the console and type "StopQuest WTM_ManagerQuest" without the quotes (and capitalization doesn't matter). If you've already uninstalled and can't move, use the console and type EnablePlayerControls to be able to move again and make your SKSE.ini and put in the setting I mentioned to clear the updating script. to avoid game bloat.

Cleanest way to be under your weight limit and use StopQuest WTM_ManagerQuest. Then you can, from that point forward, play as if it wasn't installed (if you only want it deactivated for that character) or actually uninstall it. I'll put that in the description later.

I recently started playing again, forgot about the above post, and took the mod out and I can't move at all, nor fire a bow or interact with anything in my p[layer home.

So I will try what you suggest.

    It worked... sort of.

I tested this out in Alvor's house in Riverwood, just after the escape from Helgen. My carry capacity was 315 lbs, and I was already encumbered past that point when I loaded my save and entered his house.

I grabbed everything he'd let me take until I was over 470 lbs, to trigger the effect. I wasn't frozen, but my movement speed was so slow it might as well have been zero. I could still interact with things, cast spells, swing a sword, etc. Naturally I next wanted to get rid of this weight. That's when the weirdness started.

Ditching weight down to 350 lbs, I picked up no speed at all, and dropping down to 270 granted me only the encumbered speed I was at before hitting the x1.5 carryweight mark, but which had started after 315 lbs.

This might be caused by something else, I have been having trouble getting other mods to work right on my computer that I wish was more powerful, but if it works this way for anyone else, permanently cutting player speed is going to break anyone's game.

I can think of two things. Try enabling the mod while you are not already over-encumbered. I record your speed and grant it back. That might be the issue, then.

As for why it didn't grant it back until 270, I can't think of ANY reason it would do that unless you changed your multiplier. "set WTM_WeightMultiplier to 1.5" will reset it in case it somehow got changed without you knowing.

Finally, slowing down so you're essentially unable to move is exactly what should happen. Preventing the player's movement is only possible in two ways that I've found: reducing speed and toggling movement. Toggling movement also toggles magic and crouching (it's what I was using originally). So, I switched to reducing speed. But I can't reduce to 0. The game will treat 0 as 100. So I went with the next best thing: 0.01.

At zero weight carried, after being loaded down to ~0 movement and then dropping everything, I still move like I'm normally past my carry weight limit but not over 1.5, and cannot get rid of that effect.

I'm not sure what you mean by enabling the mod, I started a fresh game with it.

270 is just me dropping stuff like crazy, not it kicking in at a weird time. I'm fine with moving extra slowly.

Edit: I found a way to clear the effect after dropping my weight. Specifically by quitting to the desktop and loading the save.

Did the effect crop up again after you fixed it or was it working properly after that?

I did not notice that you had responded.

My video card started going out, and I haven't played since then. I'll probably save up for a new one before I'll be able to play any more skyrim.

When I had it running before, after I discovered that quitting out of skyrim and running it again, and loading the save, removed my character's remaining slow speed, I don't think I tested it much after that, I'm sorry. When I get some money together for a replacement card, I'll try it out again.

That sucks. I'm sorry. I can sort of relate. My issue was my fan went out. It made games impossible to play, but it was also a cheap fix, unlike a graphics card. Anyway, I'd test it myself, except that I've not encountered the issues you have.

When stuck, I cannot use magic or crouch. Is this intended?

I'm sorry. I'm supposed to get emails for comments, but it must have been intercepted by my spam filters. Magic usage and crouching should not be affected by this. I'll look into it tonight and see if I can find a cause.

EDIT: So, testing confirms it happens with only this active. I'll see if I can find a way around this.

Edit2: Alright, after re-reading the entry for DisablePlayerControls(), I noticed that crouching is automatically disabled when movement controls are disabled and there's nothing I can do about that. I don't know why magic is also disabled. I tried changing SpeedMult instead, but it had no effect. I'll ask if anyone knows another way to disable movement, but these two might just have to be put up with.

Alright, new version uploaded which should address this. If you continue to have problems, let me know.
