Hey, I used the mod for about 10 minutes and it stopped working, I don't know what could have broken it, but it still gives the visual effect, just doesn't allow regeneration under the sun, which is the whole point of the mod, it may be my skyrim version, I guess, but it worked fr 10 minutes, so i'm not sure

edit[I guess it could be Sacrosanct]

My situation is as follows: I am using a mod called 'Fear of Sun' and another mod that allows you to wear hoods, helmets or capes without taking damage from the sun. However, I wanted an alternative option when I want to see my character's face, so I downloaded your mod. It does activate the darkness effect, but if I take off the hood, I start taking damage, and if I only wear the ring, I die. I am also using the Better Vampire mod.
    Help me?

Downloaded this and used a quick guide to make it work with SE, so far it seems to be working! Thanks!

first i appreciate this and look forward to using it; i'm surprised nobody thought of it before.
i have bv sun damage over time set to 'special' (immune at stage 1), will anything complications happen besides the damage occurring despite the amulet?

Nope no other complications, you just won't be protected from sun damage when you're eligible to take it, unfortunately. The health and stamina offsets depending on your stage as well as your magicka and stamina regen will all still be compensated for though and remain at whatever level they would be if you weren't a vampire.

The only way I could have countered the effect without making any changes to BV's actual edits was to implement a healing-over-time effect equal to the damage-over-time you receive based on your stage of vampirism. However, the player receives different multipliers for damage based on what difficulty they're playing on but not for healing. So if one stage is set to do 5 damage per second in the actual mod, it will do 5 dps on adept, 10 dps on master, and 15 dps on legendary. I couldn't find any sort of difficulty-check function to use as a condition so whatever values I chose to use for health regeneration would have only worked correctly on one difficulty.

Also please remember that if you ever disable or uninstall BV to deactivate my mod as well, it uses BV's .esp as a master so your game will crash if you try to load it with my mod active and BV not present. Same deal if you decide to switch over to the master level version which makes your vampire spells do more damage, you have to deactivate the version of my mod you have and download the one that works for the ML version.

      thanks for the help
i have this this weird problem with bv in that the regeneration is decreased only by 100% like in vanilla. unless i'm mistaken, in this case the bv-ml compatible version of your mod compensates the intended -500% from bv so it should leave me with 400% extra, but according to the mcm on bv it's a normal 100% when taking into account restoration boosts. in short, somehow it works properly contrary to expectations...

Well if you've been using BV for a while and increased your vampire rank close to the max by feeding a lot, the conditions in it actually change to reducing your regen penalties to anything from 90-99% based on what stage of hunger you're in, allowing very slow partial regen. I believe "Vampiris Patrician" and "Vampiris Praeceptor" are the ranks where this starts to happen. You'll get a similar effect standing in shadows instead of broad daylight at any rank, with your regen penalties dynamically switching based on the light level. My patch is only set to provide the 500% bonus at times when the mod is giving you a 500% decrease, so if you meet the conditions for the mod to be giving you a 90-100% decrease, my amulet will properly adjust and give you a 90-100% bonus. So if it's saying that you're at 100%, chances are that everything's working completely as intended both in my mod and in BV.

yeah but i've always had only -100% even well before the patrician rank. just a strange bug that's been there even when everything else apparently works. in any case i'm glad the amulet goes along fine with it
another thing i've noticed is that the effect seems to be amplified by things that increase restoration magnitude - i presume there's no way around this since all fortify x effects count as restoration?
another thing i've noticed is that the amulet seems to have an abnormally high value but it's probably something on my end

Does anyone know of a mod like this that gives the effect permanently (doesn't matter if it's day or not or inside or not)

edit: by effect I mean the ebony mail effect btw

I like this, but could there be a version where the effect doesn't look like you're wearing the ebony mail and stealthed? I like how my vampire looks as not a patch of darkness.
