just downloaded it to test on Skyrim SE and so far yes this does work. The annoying crackling that plays after your follower unequips there magic/ice spells has completely disappeared for me.
For me, it worked perfectly. Dropped it in the folder, added it to the ESP list on the bottom, loaded the save - POOF! Annoying spell sound finally stopped. Save, remove it from the list, load the save, click "Yes" when it says there's a missing ESP, and POOF! Annoying sound did not return.
While I am aware that this fix is in the Unofficial Patch, the Unofficial patch changes several things about the game in ways that I DO NOT LIKE, so, I don't use it. I am very grateful for Grimeleven uploading this, and I offer my deepest thanks.
Opened this mod in SSEEdit to see what it does, and include its fixes in my SSE playthrough. Turns out, the fix has already been applied by USSEP (and presumably, therefore, USLEEP).
