Hi Jonathan, a request here please: Can you add an alternative version of this mod where the bow and special fx/stats can be given to a Follower (but can be later taken away if needed, without bugging them). I am trying to have Toccata become an Ice Archer (there is the Arctic Archer mod and Refracting Stalhrim mod that would go very well with your mod idea). :-)

Love the idea. May I request a slightly different version of this cold based weapon? I love to have this effect on a two handed sword, but the ice spear is cast when the player doing power attack with the sword, just like bloodskal blade of Dragonborn.
Please read the description; the spell does not replace the normal functionality of the bow. It is a completely additional effect that still allows for normal bow use.
Have you seen the video at all? Hostile enemies wielding frost & ice spells are everywhere in the vanilla Skyrim, so the fact that quite a few enemies are resistant to frost is beside the point.
Vanilla archery was OP anyway, as its higher level perks just nerfed any real skill (twitch response) and fun with archery. This mod provides a nifty and unique way for a gamer to play as both an archer and mage at the same time!! And the ice spikes are perfect projectiles, as the slow-time archery perk allows for more accurate targeting with the slower ice spikes, while the normal archery no longer relies on slow-time to get accurate shots in, so it really becomes the player's skill in a tight and fast-paced situation. This is a win-win situation IMHO, thanks to this mod.
