In vanilla staff the orb suspiciously looks exactly like the Eye but it's low poly, static and blurry, so I've decided to just fix yet another Bethesda's console "decapitimization" and made it look like it's supposed to, like the real Eye of Magnus. The orb has its original size I've only moved the inner stems a bit wider as the Eye is slightly levitating just like in the quest with Ankano. Then, ppl started to ask questions so I've made a plugin for stats so this decoration at least can be used as a weapon. Sorry if it fails to kill some weird creature, but I've tried it on a serpentine dragons ass on Solstheim and it worked
I have a suggestion for an effect I want to see assuming it's possible, when you have the staff ready perhaps the eye remains closed but whenever you cast the staff's spell the eye opens, maybe if possible give it a custom animation where all the eye's pieces move back toward the staff itself so that the core is exposed on the firing side
First off, I love the mod! It does everything you said it would and looks great! I have a question though. I use Dual Sheath Redux and would love to get that animation you have for it to play while the staff is sheathed on my back. Is that mesh already in the file or could you tell me what files to move around to get that to work? Because right now, it looks like the original staff when I have it sheathed, but your cool one when I use it. Thanks for any input you provide!
For whatever reason, my Staff in-game now has several spaces before its name. I looked at this plugin in the CK, and it seems that the name isn't altered at all. I'm not sure what other mod it could be, because this is my only mod which alters the Staff of Magnus in any way.
I loaded this up in NIFSkope to compare to aMidianBorn and see if the textures loaded properly, and the animation has all of the pieces of the orb moving around independently, like it's shattered, instead of just hovering/spinning like the normal eye of magnus. Is that normal? Does it look different in game?
it has full animation sequence from the vanilla Magnus Orb you find in the Mages Guild final quest, the big one, so it gets shattered then recollects itself, then repeats
this looks significantly better then vanilla and fits in tremendously. a definite endorsement and must have in my books. i am just about to test but does anyone know how well this will play with amidianborn's version? it doesnt look like the rest of the staff was changed so i cant imagine it being a problem but i just wanted to ask.
nvm i dont think it will, i had forgotten about amidianborn's changes to the orb on top, dont know why, mustve just slipped my mind. either way its still a great mod and in my books a keeper.
