    After Requiem has updated since this fix was uploaded for a first time, You will need to make small corrections again too (it may be a culprit of not working for some people), this time much less time demanding (just update Requiem.esp and DM.esp to have same values [especially take attention to have SPCT-Count variable value at same value in Requiem.esp and DM.esp -> should be like in DM.esp at it contains more "info"] , after update of Requiem mod -> it should have value =5 in requiem.esp and in dm.esp now).
    Be sure to look at other variables and sections from left window in TES5EDIT than RACE (armours, etc.).
    And remember to read whole FIX with attention, you need to INSTALL and ENABLE DM very carefully, making TES5EDIT tweaks is only half way to do!

    [Always if You are not sure if tweaks are working good at Your config, start a New Game (just for testing purposes) using Alternate Start mod by Arthmoor, and set all DM sliders from MCM menu to 100 (naturally after proper installing and enablig it -> read the fix) , also change damage taken in advanced Requiem mcm menu settings to 10% and dmg dealt to 150 % (or more) .
    Then Equip Sword, Warhammer, Mace or Axe and go for testing [ouuch; ].

    And remember about general Deadly Mutilation limits as DM readme says (citation) :

    " The chance of the mutilation is configurable through MCM menu, yet there are certain limitations and conditions to fill. All depend from weapon you carry and movement you execute.

    Moving power attack:
    - Sword, axe, dagger, mace, war hammer –> cut off arm
    - Great sword, great axe –> cut in half horizontally
    - Werewolf –> everything is possible

    Stand power attack:
    - Sword, axe, dagger, great sword, great axe –> eviscerate vertically
    - mace, war hammer –> eviscerate vertically or/and crush head
    - Werewolf –> everything is possible

    Normal attack:
    - Any melee weapon –> cut off arm

    * Moving and standing attack detection system is not yet 100% certain. You may trigger moving power attack effect when execute standing power attack and inverse. However it works correctly in most cases. It takes a little second for script to realize that actor is not moving.
    * Enchanted weapons will diminish a bit your chances to trigger mutilation. Because enchantment can kill the actor before physical damage and prevent script executing.
    * Any actor equipped with matching weapon can cause gory death. But player must be near.
    * Magic is not affected by random chance and works all the time if possible.

    Other useful information and functionality:
    - Works for all NPCs of all humanoid races except old people, children, essential and protected.
    - Player is immunised to all kind of effects(for being too buggy)
    - Cut in half, evisceration and dismemberment may occur only on NPCs wearing one of the
    supported armors such as:Fur, Elven, Forsworn, Hide, Studded, Imperial, Iron, Stormcloaks
    and guards armors, Necromancer and Warlock robes.
    - Some of the effects can stack and replace one each other.
    - Bodies cut in half or smashed in pieces can not be reanimated.
    - Head crush works on any character "

    Hey,can u help me,whenever the head cut off,or something got cut off my game just simply quit its self...i was like wth i havent saved my progress,and i see people got problems like "it wont work" and my problem is different than other player...can u help me...btw i only use deadly mutilation mod...i dont know what is "requim" do i need it?

    I'm getting the same exact issues that ArtMurder was getting below. I have followed the instructions to the T, so much so that my game was working fine with it before but then I had to update a few mods so I started another new game (all within a day) and now DM won't work. Pretty upsetting.

    I tested it by setting both sliders to 100 and giving myself a daedric warhammer, no heads were crushed when I slaughtered almost all of Whiterun. I then used Alternate Start to start in the inn that Gorr is in and had him follow me, I attacked the town and still not one head was crushed by him either.

    I followed the instructions and it just doesn't seem to be working. I don't get any errors, any script problems, it just simply acts like deadly mutilation isn't installed at all...

      Read about install of DM with great attention, and enable it in the game exactly as i wrote.
      Be sure you don't use modified skeletons, and have correct load order. Im using alternative start mod by Artmoor too, it is best to check from here (start new game).
      If anything is correct it is really strange, i decapitated few enemies last night and guts were flying from the chests too , maybe try to set higher damage multiplier in advanced Requiem MCM menu, and give 100/100 settings in DM mcm menu too, try it will work.

      Do you have mcm menu of DeadlyMutilation at all? Maybe something is wrong during scripts installing, do you have "resetting " message after enabling DM like in instruction?

      And Maybe Requiem updated from that time, then You must chceck .esp by TES5EDIT again.

      I did it very carefully, and the mod ACTS like it should be working fine, I enabled it the way you described exactly, the MCM menu works, and I even saw an enemy get the fire magical death effect yesterday (as it turns out people dying by spells is uncommon in requiem) I have been playing requiem normally for about a week now with DM installed this way, and the "chance of happening" set to 100, yet nothing ever happens. My character uses a massive warhammer which I power attack with CONSTANTLY, so I should be seeing people exploding.

      And yes, I got the "resetting play effect/scripts" whatever it said. Also, I have not updated requiem, and I am encountering no issues at all, other then it just acts like the "chance of occurring" is at zero...

      Damn, it is working for me and not only for me, yesterday i get 3 high elves with brains out .
      Be sure to set both sliders (in the DM mcm menu to 100 not only one, the other with enemy health should be on 100 too), it will work, for me first "effects" of the mods happens after few days, for one character which is using iron warhammer.
      If You are using interesting NPC's go to Riverwood and try to recuirt Gorr in the Sleeping Giant tavern, he will have nice skill and Iron Warhammer , and there are no way if everything is set good that you could not get DM effects.

      And very important, if you want to test !!!

      For testing it best start New Game
      using Arthmoor's "Alternate Start" mod (for testing purposes) (then inside starting cell choose when talking to statue of Mara "Im patron at the Inn" , then " Sleeping Giant Inn" with settings from Description /PDF and sticky post above.
      While in Tavern go find Gorr (From "Interesting Npc's" , great mod) (big guy with warhammer on the back) , join him to your company and go outside searching for a enemies (Gorr with settings im giving should kill almost any enemy with visible DM effect).

      And as it is for testing only, also change damage taken in advanced Requiem mcm menu settings to 10% and dmg dealt to 150 % (or more).

      Have in mind that some heavy armoured enemies may be hard to kill in DM way (with effects) if you do not have proper skill choosen for weapon class that you are using(be it "two-handed" , "one-handed" skill) , fast and easiest to notice effects are when you are using blunt weapons, like maces and warhammers.

      MAKE SURE THAT DM is LAST in the Load order (only exception is when You are using "Warburg's Map" mod), even AFTER bashed patch.


      Keep trying it works!

      I tried moving it in the load order and moving all the slider around so I could slaughter people, killed probably 20 guards with a warhammer and not a single one of them received effects from deadly mutilation. And I only have one active character, if I can't get it to work on him then I'm just ignoring it, I'm not going to start a whole new character just to get one mod to work...

    Thanks for this tip. So far working well together. I'd only used TES5EDIT previously for cleaning mods but this has an easy introduction to altering records for a nub such as myself. Also worth pointing out that if you drag a header record (say, for example, Attacks - Attack Data) from Requiem to overwrite Deadly Mutilation you can replace all the values in that category in one go, rather than individually replacing records one by one in that category. Saves a lot of time. Most people probably already knew that but, like I said, I'm a nub!

      I will try to make it working by the .esp file, becouse some people have problems with TESEDIT or managing proper installation of DM mod for Requiem (it is quite hard btw) .

    I am bit confused here. When I edit Armor 0021507 (which is organge text over red background) am I changing all records, or just the red lettered ones? Example the MOD2 - Model Filename, which is diff in requiem and DM, but not really a conflict. All the Stats as well?? In essence should I be taking all entrys from the Requiem column and copy to the DM column??

    Hm i did everything but now i get a script error probably the cause of my crashes:

    Edit: Actually DM stops working if i make the changes. I do not think i do anything wrong :/
    Transferred all Req race values to DM and DM is last in load order.

      Hello !
      Hmm, strange many people don't have any issues and all is working for them.
      Maybe it is something related to the mod load order or any errors during making edits
      I will be back into Skyrim in the end of next week, as for now im spending most of gaming time on Rome 2TW and modding it.

      im also getting this error, though it doesnt have anything to do with requiem or the changes you made... but wondering what is the cause? anyone know how to fix it? everything else works fine and dm is at the bottom of the load order

      Please make sure you read PDF further for the proper "activation" of the DM with the fix procedure in game. Even proper installation of the DM mod matters!
      Making changes and proper load order is half of the job, rest i described in the PDF too.
      I will try to check this problem, maybe Requiem gain new update and we must change something, but Deadly Mutilation is still without update , so it may be problem with Your overall mod configuartion, maybe other mods are conflicting.
      I played yesterday with updated Requiem and this Fix is still working for me, exactly as decribed im using Requiem in version 1.7.3, with addon Mass Effect in version 1.7.3 and Deadly Mutilation in version 1.3.4 .
      Above all im still trying to contact with Lamer1000 , author of Deadly Mutilation mod (send him few PM by Nexus) but he is missing for a few months.
      Ive tested all on actualized mods (over 230 ) today , and all work as intended. Be sure you installed DM correctly.

      do you not get these errors in your papryus log? thought this happens for everyone. DM works just fine, but it spams my logs
