This mod is fantastic, I use it in every new playthrough, and cannot recommend it enough. It is simple and easy to use, and does what would be expected from a food mod. This mod does not overcomplicate things with nutrition values, rotting mechanics or other new systems, and it has no major compatibility issues. Using this mod with a highly modded game or with large overhaul mods will result not result in problems of functionality. I use it with frostfall all the time, and the The only real issues with the mod are a lack of options to tag modded food items for use with this mod. so essentially you are stuck eating vanilla, hearthfire, and dragonborn foods. additionally without a water drinking mechanic this mod essentially forces the player to drink alcohol, due to the low availability of other drinks. If you're a prohibitionist or similar you may need to find a different mod.
If you have never used a hunger mod before be warned, salt will quickly become the most valuable commodity in the game, as it is a required ingredient to cook meat at a cooking station. I recommend using this mod with campfire, since the modded campfires will allow the player to cook meat without using salt. although, the management of your salt can add an extra level of complexity to your resource management, which may be what you are looking for if you are downloading food mods.
Many thanks to the author for years of bug free and immersive skyrim munching.

Ingredients, raw meats, and most raw vegetables do not count as meals. Apples and potatoes are exceptions.

...So you can eat raw potatoes as food, but not raw carrots or tomatoes? O.o That just seems odd to me.

Other than that, I love this =D Does the job without adding loads of intricate details I'd need to keep track of.

*tracks and plans to download once he gets back to his gaming rig*

This mod is script intensive? let's say like RnD?

It's not intensive at all. The main script gets called once every half hour of game time, otherwise it sleeps. There's no way to do a mod like this without scripts, but they're as small and efficient as I can make them. Better than some scripts that came with the game, BTW.

I have been prying apart your mod and figured out how to add food items to the meals lists. As I stated before, I use Hunterborn which adds lots of new food items. I am working on a patch between your mod and Hunterborn, for my own use. If your okay with it, I would like to upload the patch, when I'm done with it. It will not use anything from either mod, it will just reference Hunterborn and your mod as masters, nothing else. I would certainly give you all due credit and reference your mod so others can find and enjoy it.

I am also toying with the idea of a patch between your mod and Fountains of Skyrim. If I do that, I would also like to upload that, same credits for you.

Go for it. I'm thinking it's best if you upload it as your own mod, then link back here as a requirement. I can link to yours as well.

I use the mod Dynamic Timescale. Is there any way to suppress your timescale change so Dynamic Timescale operates?

You shouldn't have to do anything special. My mod does NOT touch the timescale until you modify it through the menu. All it does is change it in the same way you would change it via the console. If you have changed it, just change it back to the default of 20 and you're fine.

You seem to be correct. The Dynamic Timescale mod appears to override your timescale perfectly. Thanks. Another point, if I may, There are quite a few food items that are not part of your mod. I don't use any mods adding food items to my knowledge so I assume these items are vanilla. Is it possible to add them to the food lists? If you give a quick explanation, I would be happy to try myself.

Upon closer examination, it seems the food items I was referring to are not vanilla. I'm not sure which mod is adding the items since I run like 150+ mods.

The Unofficial Skyrim Patch adds in a "Meat Pie", apparently as a fix for the meat pies in the Bards College event. So far this is the only one I've found. I haven't created a USKP addon yet, and I'm not sure I will for just one rare item.

After checking things out a bit I see that the mod Hunterborn adds several food items. I realize asking you to add all the various food items from all the different mods is unreasonable, so just add mine.

No, just kidding. But really, if you could make it possible for us mediocre modders to easily (relatively so, anyway) add foods items ourselves, well you would certainly go to the top of my Christmas list and have unending adulation from myself and the rest of the Nexus community. It ain't really worth anything but there you go. You could even point me in the sort of correct direction as to how I might accomplish this task myself.

In any event, this is a fantastic reality mod. Simple, easy to adjust with MCM, clean and uncluttered. I have altered the food needs so a light meal is worth 6 hours and a heavy meal is worth 12. Drinking is worth 12 hours as well. That way I only need to eat and drink twice a day. Very convenient and still immersive. Thanks for your efforts in bringing us this mod.

You should consider making a patch for the mod "Drinking Fountains of Skyrim"

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24282/?

It seems it would work in well with your mod and the author is okay with using his stuff. The ability to carry around some drinking water would be very immersive, IMHO.

Recipes do not affect this mod. As long as they produce an existing food type it is compatible. The effect is attached to the food, not the recipe. In other words, it doesn't matter what recipes you use to make Cooked Beef, as long as it's the same Cooked Beef as in the vanilla game then it will count as a regular meal.

About food recipes from other mods, will they add in the effect with script?
Not so good with elaboration, please refer the auto unequip arrow mod by mitchalek

Good news everyone! Dragonborn and Hearthfire are now supported! These are optional addons included in the download. Only activate them if you have the appropriate DLCs. Other changes include starting the timer when you first use the menu (better compatibility with Life Another Life), and bumping up the penalties.

Because this changes the main running script ever so slightly, it is necessary to make a clean save of your game before updating.
