NOTE: If reverting to Vanilla Serana from a mod that alters her to another race (NordRaceVampire for instance), some extra work will need to be done before installing this mod.

1: First, find out if there are any loose files in Meshes/Actors/Character/Facegendata/Facegeom/Dawnguard.esm. You're looking for 00002b6c.nif, 00003BA7.NIF, and 00003b8b.nif. Delete them.

Likewise, go into Textures/Actors/Character/Facegendata/Facetint/Dawnguard.esm and look for files with those same hex numbers (which are the base NPC form IDs for Serana and folks), but are DDS and TGA files instead of NIF files. Delete them too.

2: Load your game. Serana may look kinda ugly at the moment. Enter these two console commands in succession: "prid 02002b74", and then "setrace NordRace". If Dawnguard isn't in load order position 02, then replace the first two digits in the prid command with whatever it is for you. Remember it's a hexidecimal number.

(EDIT ADDENDUM: With the new load order for the Unofficial Patches, Dawnguard will now likely be 03 if you have them.)

3: Then, deactivate the modules that alter Serana's appearance, using whatever uninstall procedures they provide. If they don't provide any... you're taking your save file's stability into your own hands. Remember this axiom for Skyrim: Clean Saves Aren't. The only truly clean save is one made before you even installed the mod in question. Even ones with documented uninstall procedures leave bits behind in your save file, they just clean them up so the worst they cause is a small bit of bloat.

4: Once that's done, save, exit, and install my mod. If things are still wonky.... Hmmm. I'll figure out what's wrong if that happens. Just remember though: This mod was intended for vanilla Serana. Baked-in save data may not play nice.

If you end up with a bloatbomb (where file save size begins rapidly increasing in size, more than a few MBs that can be attributed to differing locations at save) because of uninstalling, there may be a remedy via SKSE. They found the primary cause of bloatbombs to be orphaned update blocks going wild, and devised a way to cauterize them. It was tested by Arthmoor himself by deliberately inducing the infamous Sounds of Skyrim bloatbomb (which the newer releases no longer have) and it worked.

Man oh man its hard to believe its been 10 years since the release of this mod.  Back then we were all like toddlers going crazy in the limitless world of Skyrim modding.

Anyways I see people asking here for a conversion.  As I've already done:  Just drag the 3 mesh files into your Facegeom directory and you're all set.

Any chance you can port this to SSE, please? All the Serana fang mods I find for SSE don't work. :(

Hello, I was wondering something. Is it possible to use the files with this mod, and use them with some of the stuff from this guide (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/articles/1647), in order to make new facegen and still have her have fangs?

It would be lovely if you could alter the gift quest to achieve the same effect, It's annoying that my vampire wife is fangless. Otherwise, could you post a tutorial so I can edit the npc myself?

So here's my issue. I was having some pretty nasty tintmask issues. I fixed them by the simple expedient of removing the tintmask folder from Data/Textures. Worked like a charm, everyone has makeup and warpaint. Go, me. I decided, yo, Serana should have some better hair. Shouldn't affect her fangs, since hair is (apparently not) separate from the head. So, gave her good hair. HOWEVER.

This seems to have subjected her, and only her, to the no makeup bug that I had just fixed for everyone else. In a panic, because who wants an ugly Serana, I quick went back in and ctrl-f4, and voila, her makeup is back! But now.... HER FANGS ARE GONE!!!! I have disabled/enabled Serana Fangs, and that didn't work. I went to adjust the load order, but there is no SeranaFangs.esp to move, nor can I find it in the CK (?). I deleted my mod, but that only succeeded in removing her makeup AND her fangs. Currently, I was able to fix it by making a mod to make her vanilla. She has no fangs, but she's pretty and I love her anyway and I always will, but... dam gurl, you need fangz.

So I came here. I tried the whole revert-Serana-to-vanilla thing Madcat221 posted, and that's when I discovered that the files I was supposed to delete from meshes/actors/character/facegendata/facegeom/dawnguard don't exist, and the facegeom folder in the Textures filepath is completely empty. Hmm.

If someone could be so kind as to offer advice, that would be swell. If I am stuck doing a full clean reinstall JUST to get Serana her fangs back, I am prepared to do so. Destroy the game to fix the bug. Extreme, but hey. Mods are temporary, Serana is forever.

At least I know how to fix the no makeup thing. If only I hadn't gotten cocky and messed with Serana. Sigh.

    Weird thing going on.

I have this mod installed manually. If I start Skyrim by going through MO, Serana has fangs. If I don't start through MO, she doesn't.

Identical INI files and load orders. No mods installed besides USLEEP and a quickstart mod.

It's like, without MO, the loose files aren't working properly or something.

I don't use MO, s I can't help. Ask other MO users what MO is meddling with this time.

I'm late to the party, but where exactly are you installing the files? If you're installing them in Skyrim > Mod Organizer > Mods, then it doesn't make any sense for the mod to show up in Skyrim when you start it from the vanilla launcher. If you installed them in Skyrim > Data, or whatever is the place where Nexus Mod Manager terribly installs mods, then it should show up in your game via the vanilla launcher.

But why would you want to manually install mods when you already have Mod Organizer? It's insane. Don't do that, it will mess your game up, especially when you start to install dozens and dozens of mods.

So before I start this into my current PT I was wondering what happens if at the end of DG you cure Serana of vampirism? Will she be stuck with fangs or does the game use a different set of files when she's cured thus ignoring this mod by default/expected behavior?

Nvm. I have my answer. After the cure her eyes are fixed but she kept her fangs. I didn't see that disclosure in the "Uninstall section". Hmm. Maybe I could snip some sound files together and make a mini-dialogue patch saying something along the lines of "Falion cured me but I'm stuck with the fangs because I've been a vampire so long." Might go well with the Serena - No Necromancy mod.

Any chance you could explain how you made this? I want to combine your methods of fangs with the Windsong Overhaul version of Serana for Skyrim Special Edition.

Hello there. Any chance to see this essential and incredibly underrated mod for Skyrim Special Edition? Or does it work fine? And if so, how?

    Bless you <3

Did you convert it to being SSE-ready using the available tools?

Hello, finally a mod that seems to change only the teeth Serana without affecting the rest, though ...
This does not work with my Serana that I love so much

    Without mod ==>

    With mod ==>

is it possible that only the teeth are altered and not eye / face ?
See also extend a little teeth because they do not see alot actually (unlike mod Female Vampires Have Fangs)

It is because you do not have a vanilla Serana. You overwrote another mod that alters her skin tones, and now her head skin tone mismatches her body skin tone.

And no, it is not possible to alter only her teeth. The baked head meshes are all in one NIF file.

      Re all

With Skyrim SE, there is a chance that Serana meshes are changed and she has vampire fang ?
