Is there any requirements to run this? I tried installing both versions and both of them start the animation then immediately freeze. WinXP Pro SP 3, Intel Quad 2.4GHz, 3.5GB RAM. I tried using the "right click" to configure the settings with no joy. Thanks for any help!
The standard screensaver works fine but I can't get the silent one to install properly. Thoughts?
Not really sure. The same happens for me as well, but I used same settings on the application when I made them, so I am sorry I did not check the silent one as the first one worked nicely.
ya yer right, i am level 55 and lydia is wearing ebony armor enchanted and upgraded and shield with ebony sword. Shes like a concrete wall, nothing gets her down her dmg is only average but she tanks very well.
Also remeber im playing on master settings and lydia hasnt kneeled once yet.
Regarding those who comment Lydia is not as good in combat as other NPCs, here's a hint I picked up elsewhere, which is working for me.
Remember that you probably acquired Lydia as a follower very early in the game, compared to the others, if you follow the typical quest lines. There is reportedly a bug that causes her sometimes not to level with you. This can be worked around, on the PC, by the following procedure. DO THIS AFTER A PRECAUTIONARY GAME SAVE.
1. Dismiss her from service and end the dialog, but don't let her leave the area until the other steps (below) are done. 2. In the console, select her with the mouse. Type "disable" to make her disappear. Without selecting anything else with the mouse (very important!!!) type "enable" and she will reappear. 3. Talk to her and ask her to follow you again.
This causes her level to be recalculated based on yours. It also will reset her to equipping her default items, but anything you gave her is still in her inventory. Empty her inventory and then give items back to her, and she'll re-equip the better gear.
The other suggestion is to remember to upgrade her armor and weapons as you level up. Of *course* she gets her butt kicked if you're 35th level and she's still fighting with a steel weapon.
I was having problems with her dying a lot, but did the above procedure to re-level her at about 30th level, and shortly thereafter she survived a battle with two dragons.
