Wanted to build a higher quality version, so I tracked down the original sounds Bethesda used. 2/3 of them were from the Cyclopes monster audio bank, but I don't have access to the third. Damn.
Maybe someone in the comments can find it or maybe rip a clean version?
I'm not personally using these sounds, but I did find a high bit-rate bank of Hannah Barbera sounds, including the monster roar(s), at Archive.org. The audio may still sound "old", because while the bit-rate from the file I downloaded was 705kbs (OggVorbis), the audio recording technology was from decades ago, so it's not going to have modern quality, even at high bit-rates.
Still, here's the link in case anyone wants them: https://archive.org/details/88HorseSingleWhinnyAnimal/93+Monster+Cyclops+Roar%2C+Creature%2C+Cartoon%2C+Animal.mp3
Back in the day, they made monsters scary. Now they make them family friendly. I mean, imagine using a gorilla as inspiration for troll animations...oh wait.

Makes the skeletons so much scarier.
Thank you. :D
Can only imagine what running into these in a completely pitch black dungeon will do to my heart :P
