So far I've had no problems with the dragons, they're epic to say the least; stylish and aggressive, I even like their attacks [fireballs, steam ect] Heck I even got the crap scared outta me when one came up over a frozen cliffside. Best. Thing. Ever.
I love the dragons, but I've got a glitch. I don't know if it's being caused directly by this or not. I'm at Avanchenzel, and the dragon there flies away when he's low on health. That's not the glitch (well, it might be, but it makes sense that they'd run away, even if it is frustrating). Problem is, after he runs away and is gone long enough, he immediately teleports back to his spawn location and combat resumes with the same amount of health (it's not reset, luckily). If I do enough damage to kill him before he can run away again, he continues to fly away to perform his death animation elsewhere. I followed him after I finally managed to click him with the console, and he's heading to Autumnwatch Tower. I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking he might be finding the nearest place the game is specifically aware of for his animations to play out: another dragon lair. If he flew away and stayed gone, it wouldn't matter. It's just the teleporting that's weird.
Weird indeed. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that it's just such a cramped area near the Avanchenzel entrance. There are plenty of perch points for the dragon to land on there, but perhaps as you say it's trying to go perform some kind of death animation or something that requires more landing space on the ground instead. I can take a look and try to find a way to limit the distance the dragon can travel from its point of origin, but not sure whether I'll be able to fix it for certain.
No worries if you can't. I still need to test it a bit more to see if happens again, on different profiles, and without other mods installed. I just wanted to make you aware.
Hey, was wondering if this was compatible with the Dragon Combat Overhaul mod and would use some of ApolloDown's scripts, like when a dragon dies in the air and dies instead of ignoring it and flying into a crash scene.
This mod is compatible with everything. But it won't use any scripts from another mod, because it has its own custom Dragon race, abilities, etc -- distinct from the vanilla stuff.
I love this mod. I really do. I got surprised by a mechanical dragon nearly first thing after installing the mod, and that bastard gave me the toughest fight I've ever faced in Skyrim...before disappearing for a minute and returning to fight me again, fully healed (this might have been a game glitch, was entertaining either way).
And how these dragons work! They're smarter than dragon-dragons, I think, with a better array of places to land and a better grasp of flyby attacks than their fleshy predecessors. The original mod was brilliant and creative, I think, but the more surgical precision of this one adds realism and rationality to the dragons that makes me a LOT more careful about wandering up to dwemer ruins.

With all that said, I do love this mod.
