This is only a personal experience of mine and is not medical advice whatsoever. There is a substance named after a girl named Molly that has helped me fight and cure my OCD. It worked the first time I took it and my life has been better ever since. I only say this just to share my personal experience and the huge relief that came with it. You are welcome to ask me more about it at anytime. I hope you get better soon!

As someone who also suffers from OCD, I absolutely have to give this a try. I love Breezehome, but it's so full of things that I can't sort or organise...it's like being at work all over again! Maybe this will help me deal with the general disorganisation I deal with on a day-to-day basis!

I feel for this. Playing Skyrim with OCD can be such a pain at times.
I don't think this is the right thing for me - but I still appreciate this mod's existence.

Congrats. You have made the game into diablo. Personally I quickly scan with my eyes and just pick out the valuable loot, but to each his own.

Ha! Excellent! Yet, I will not use this as it would drive me nuts.....gotta, gotta grab.....:{)

However I will download and endorse......and disclose to my therapist that this resource is available so that I can have another lie to tell her.....

I'm trying to work on my self control... That and I really can't get anything done in Skyrim XD

I'm planning on using this with an auto harvest mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19618/?), which I've found at least partially fixes my need to pick everything up. For me it seems that it's more about "I need that" than "I have to personally pick that up".

So, if you're planning on using it *with* an auto-harvest mod, what exactly does your mod do? The reason I ask is that I use that auto-looter myself and it snags everything - just curious what your mod picks up that it doesn't.

I suffer from CDO myself, which is similar to OCD, but the acronym letters are in the correct order, the way they should be.

I actually did some more testing, and the auto harvest mod doesn't actually work with this. It must rely on the player's ability to activate stuff. Anyways, all my mod does is enable and disable the player's ability to activate anything. This is a crude system, which disables anything from picking up plant nodes, to looting bodies, to looting containers, to activating doors, ets. But, it's quite easy to enable and disable via a lesser power spell that activates a menu in which you can disable and enable your ability to activate. Think of it like when you're in werewolf form: you can't loot or activate much.

I'm also looking into how to allow activation of things like doors which using this at the moment. I'll update this mod if I do figure it out.

Ahh - okay. I see. Like I say, I use the same auto-looter, set the range to 480 and then appease my OCD by sorting trash from treasure at the end, leaving the dungeon boss a treasure chest filled with baskets and stuff. I also use Haven Bag and Craftable Cloud Storage to keep my inventory nice, short, and tidy while still collecting what I want to collect. The current character saves 'sweets' but doesn't eat them.

So this adds ANOTHER layer of complexity to the process? Speaking as someone whose OCD manifests in going back and reclicking things, or reloading if I d/n like the way I did something anytime I had to make a choice on clicking or not clicking something (the virtual equivalent of going through a door or not), that would make things astronomically WORSE. . Different aspects of OCD, I guess.

Yeah it's not always the same. I have very strong compulsions to pick up everything, explore every corner of every place I visit, and I also live in fear of asymmetry (which doesn't manifest itself in Skyrim thank gosh, or I'd only ever be dual wielding the same items lol).

Interesting difference. Getting a *little* bit off topic (this mod is abt OCD) and *IF* I may ask (your call, ofc) does your situation involve "bad thoughts" attaching themselves to anything out of order or unknown?Your need to explore and pick up/order things, and have symmetry (again, order, or possibly energy simply in balance) suggests a feeling that the unknown/uncontrolled might harbor ill energy.A different, but interesting pattern than my own.

My own need to go back and "make sure" by reclick/bring menu back up/reload is more a matter of insufficient RL forward motion in my life (things being sort of on hold atm) so any random thought has as much relevance as reality and "trips me up" until I can hammer it down by "making sure" it is done right. This does occasionally involve picking things up, but more is a problem w/putting them back down AFTER picking them up, because of intent/energy now being invested into them.

In any case, it seems there are others on the Nexus who also find this useful, so thank you for providing this good work.

Kudos for making this mod, but the way my OCD manifests, that image is terrifying.
