hey gang i'm back and can work on stuff intermittently
new version coming today featuring solstheim guards
it is strange there are many people requesting a civil war version because this already changes stormcloaks i find it fitting for the legion to be more or less matching, and if you disagree there are other mods (extended ____ variety) that i find do a great job already
It doesn't change the stormcloaks... only the windhelm guards..... but I was just wondering if you could post more pix of all the variants of the new solstheim guards before I install it. Also I use the morrowind weapon expansion mod that adds bonemold and chitin weapons that were missing, which the redoran guard use, will this clash with it?
yes there would be a conflict - if you really want a patch i can look into it if you post the link to the mod you are using
the variety is pretty simple, just allowing all elven weapon varieties and 2h rather than just sword and shield, may have helmet, dunmer hood or nothing, variation on gauntlets and misc random stuff like potions, necklaces, rings and such (that i had given to all guards)
i'll test the stormcloaks on my game when i have a chance but i have edited them already
I know you already helped me before, but could you possibly make it so that any guard using a shield uses their holds proper shield? (espically since winterhold guards never use them)
Update - Also just bumped into a winterhold guard using a whiterun shield?
Aside from the one previously mention incident of the winterhold guard with whiterun shield. What I meant was guards only using hold shields not hide or iron shields.
Also just as a side note (feel free to ignore it, I do not think you will actually do it), a lite version of the mod would be totally awesome. By lite version I mean just the heavy/light variants of the armor with the hoods on the mages, but no weapon/helmet/shield etc changes.
One more thing I was thinking about it and the dawnguard armor pauldrens would love wicked on the guard armor... just a thought.
I figured out the problem. I love your mod and consider it a MUST HAVE but I also used Tartan Stormcloaks by Callaghan04 for all my guard uniforms to make them less plain but the only conflict his textures has is that it leaves your sleeved variants incomplete... everything works fine but the sleeves just remain black. So if you could please either make a fix or a separate mesh without the sleeves for people who use the Tartan mod I would really appreciate it because I want to use your mod but the black sleeves keeps bugging me lol
Tartan Stormcloaks by Callaghan04 I would suggest using this for the textures of each hold just change the names of the files accordingly I use a different one for each hold. And together with this mod makes the PERFECT combo
These mods change the actors so their inventories no longer point to the item lists that my mod uses. To overwrite their changes, I would have to edit every npc individually (which would make more conflicts, not reduce them). If you know your way around TES5Edit, you could do what I said and then bash patch to make it happen.
TES5EDIT won't allow me to create merged patches for some reason, the game crashes when I load up my saves so I won't be able to do it, might be mod conflicts, I run about 286+
I really enjoy your mod, but I miss being able to see the guards using the bandoliers and cloaks/furs, lawrens guards allows it, but I don't quite enjoy the style, was hoping you could solve this problem for us who enjoy these mixtures
Also, for some reason I get stormcloaks sounding as wolves, not a problem from your mod though, I spent last night trying to figure out what was causing this issue.. can you imagine? stormcloaks attacking and emitting wolf sounds? pretty funny actually, they're hounds anyway xD
I thought wrye bash would solve it, but I use another mod, Omegared gallery city guard replacers, I kinda like it more than any other city guard mods, and it allows Cloaks/furs and bandoliers, but when I tick your mod all the guards from all holds and every mod I add with leveled list related nulls these other mods, are you sure you can't make a patch? this also relates to your other EFP mods, such as bandits, won't allow bringandage and any other mods to show up in the Bandit/ leveled lists, even with bashed patches
You can selectively modify files with TES5edit, only the ones you mentioned you can select and only they will be loaded. I don't know how you have so many mods because the limit is 252. Try it out, if it isn't working still then email me the plugins you want to work with it and I'll manually put it together - [email protected]
Now only one EFP module missing. Stormcloaks and Imperials. I tried all mods that change variety and none pleased me. Hopefully you bring EFP's diversity to civil war also.
dude can you just give the stormcloaks the same exact variety options as the gaurds? they are essentialy windhelm gaurds and its so annoying when they take a city and suddenly the gaurds all look s#*! in that city
First of all you are being rude, second of all as you can see in my permissions I do not give permission for my mod to put on steam. I do not support steam, I do no want to give Steam permission to use and sell my stuff as they want. HOWEVER what that mod author fails to state is that I DID give him permission to make a patch, he wanted to include my meshes and textures mod in his mod I do not see the point in that. He already has made a PATCH for another mod so clearly he knows how to do that. Why he is going around saying I did not give him any permission is strange since I did give him permission to make a patch, just like he did for Falskaar.
I do not see him including assets from Falskaar in his mod, so it should be a simple mater to make a patch for my mod.
asked at WIC mod forums to gave you permission to do a patch for this and nivea (mod author) replied with that ^
so...
You already had permission!!!! (just do the patch but without including the textures n such on it)
been using this for a while and its really underrated just wish that for future releases there is a version without the scarfs, since i dont think they fit into vanilla skyrim but not really a big problem, can always remove them myself with a bit of tes5edit.
also i fear there is a conflict between this and cloaks of skyrim, I merged the leveled list with a merge patch but guards don't wear cloaks.
anyway already leaved a comment about what i think but this mod is amazing i dont alter the game drasticlly but improves a lot anyway using this along side diverse guards, guard dialogue overhaul and improved closed face helmets and the guards in skyrim have never been so good... endorsed.
I contacted the author of cloaks of skyrim some about a week ago but he/she has not responded so I can't really go anywhere at this point. I also contacted the author of Winter is Coming Cloaks but she declined permission for this mod as it is also on steam. Thanks.

Excuse my English.
if the mesh is deleted it won't show up in game and there will be no issues, just use loose file version
WIC, COS, Bandoliers for npcs and scarves of skyrim, I tried to make a Bashed patch but it didn't work, is there a way around this or a patch?

Thanks.
BTW, ever since you posted this mod, I have not used any other guard mod. I find this to be nearly perfect. Great job, hope to see more from yah.
