I do like the idea of a re-texture, but perhaps a faint shine or reflection of the light would be nice. At the moment, it seems to glow with its own light, which steel really doesn't do. Great first try though, thanks for the effort!
tyvm for the feedback, i am looking forward to writing quest and adding mods when the sdk comes out however i am fairly new to the art and model side so all feedback is high appreciated, ill try to work on the colors a bit and see if i cant make a toned down version and fix how weird the yellow crystals turned out.
Look around at other people's texturing mods, and take some pointers. It's very easy to fall into the mistake of taking things too extreme when it comes to digital colors of any sort. If it's supposed to be black, make it black, right? Well, not really. Try to introduce some gray tones. Tone back your reds. You'll get it.
