Would love it if you could do this for armor mods like Bosmer armors, Immersive armors, etc.

Agreed, I'd love to see this mod expanded for alot of other much endorsed mods.

to fix the normal maps not showing, simply open the Nif in nifskope and go to the block you want to fix (Ni-trishape) then expand the block, select its Ni-trishape data branch.

Check the block details (the data at the bottom of the window by default)
Look for a line that starts with "BS Num UV Sets"
change the value of this line to 4097

you must do this to any mesh you export from 3dsmax in order to get it to show normal maps again.
when the mesh is exported is resets the number from 4097 to 1, so remember to do it when ever you edit one of your meshes.

    Hope this helps.

    *edit*
Don't forget to replace the exported BSlightingshader properties with ones from an existing piece of armor/clothing in skyrim, the export process can ruin that part and make the textures not show correctly.

I figured it out (constipated look) - nifskope properly shades/displays normals for ONLY THE FIRST SINGLE PIECE of armor that you copy shaders to (that's why) only the FEET in these Falmer boots took the shader cuz it was the first one I selected, then the boots came second and hence they got messed up - Very consistent and reproducable on my end/version of Nifskope.

Soooo all I have to do is import to nifskope - swap shader for first piece - move that to working in-game mesh - reload armor this time shade alternate piece first and it repeat it works like a charm (sarcasm) - Fallout was so much easier to mod for - and never imagined myself saying that.

NVM - it just works for armor - these boots still look like crap. I'll figure it out eventually
