I can tell there was considerable effort put into this mod, but it's just wrong. For the Greatsword stance, no one holds a two-handed sword like that. The knees should be bent a lot more, the hands should be slightly more apart, and the weapon itself should be held lower, with the tip of it pointing up and slightly away from you.

For the Warhammer stance, again the knees should be bent a lot more, the torso should be bent forward a bit, the hands should be much further apart, but the weapon is fine for the most part.

I would follow this guy's advice. But Downloading and giving a kudos anyways Skyrim needs new two-handed animations bad.

his stance is pretty close to how REAL sword users wield them.

actually it is up the the mod author how his/her mod is made and is a matter of interpretation on how said weapons are actually held, while you're opinion is noted I might point out no one is an authority on the matter .

Haha, yeah I saw the grip for the sword and its actually apart instead of together.

True, but personally I get all autistic when it comes to any form of martial arts, but I'm glad this person actually did this kind of work.

"Real" sword users? Dude, I'm a sword user myself. Don't tell me my 5 years of experience is completely off. I'm sorry, but the stance is just incredibly impractical.

Gethesmain, The link you posted for that playlist... the first video of his high guard. This is used to entice opponents into coming at you. You then feint a slot and thrust either in the face, neck, stomach or my personal favorite, 2 inches to the right of the bladder. This one folds the opponent in half. Takes about 0.06 seconds.
Most of the other stances he shows will just get you killed in about 0.1 second.

Mistle24, plenty of us are authorities. I started with great sword at age 11. At 18 started in both SCA and live steel. Did this for over 20 years. His Grace, Duke Deaton of Claymore, wrote the book on great sword combat. I rewrote it a generation later.

Now, while this mod is an improvement on what shipped with the game (no one... not even a complete noob picking up a great sword for the first time, handles the weapon like the vanilla anims), what ZeroSbr1 stated is accurate. The life expectancy of a person attempting to use this type of stance is about 0.1 second.

I only point these out since the discussion has already been made.

With that said, Ima do the same as mitchellwebb1990 and download and endorse. Regardless of any realistic accuracies, or lack thereof, it is still a definite improvement on the "3 year old trying to swing a baseball bat" animation that came with the game.
You'd think with all that money they put into the game, they could have directed a keg of Guinness worth of cash to rounding up some volunteers at their local SCA chapter to do their mocap.

EDIT: And tested. Yup... definite improvement on the vanilla.

To be fair here, I'm not just bashing on Bethesda for their lack of realistic combat animations. I haven't seen a game yet that has any.

Finally someone who knows how to hold a War hammer and a 2h Sword. But like Caercius said the 2hand is definitely too high. should be lower close to the belly actually and you character could crouch a little in my head the original one was good just that the character was crouching to much. For the 2 hand Axe it is great once again the character look too much like a statue. you character should be relaxed when using those two weapon. Still its an endorsement. Be honest with you keep the good work. Do I am the only one here to find Skyrim animation outdated. I would like people like you work more on this. Instead of People making prostitution mods. Facepalm. Skyrim DESERVE AS MUCH A BIG FULL SCALED ANIMATIONS mods AS GAMEPLAY OR CONTENT MODS. If I had enough money I would rent a Motion capture studio for Skyrim and Falloutmake some new one and put them out there. They says Skyrim use motion capture ahahah BULLSHIT. Halo 4 has motion capture and it is an FPS XD and let me tell you their animation are greater than Skyrim.

Nice one. Finally a good stance. I was getting bored by all those surrealistic animations. Did they ever try standing like their characters???
Yours is way better, but there were some little things I didn't really like. The two-handed sword stance looks too much like a statue (and the sword is held too high and too far from the chest: pretty exhausting for your character's arms). Maybe should you add a little bit more move. The axe stance is quite the contrary: the legs are bending too much, in my opinion. And held a bit too high, though.
Anyway, I like this one. You should do more (especially for spell casting =3). I'm looking forward for more of your work! ^^

I just tried this and it looks really good. Are you going to change the actual combat animations too? If I could give you like ten kudos, I would.
