Just to let you know that Bert got in touch with me today. He's been madly busy, new role in his job - loads of courses he had to attend and be away from home etc. He's asked me to let you all know he hasn't abaondoned any of his mods and will try to get comments and things done as soon as he is able.
Is there a way I could add the spell book or the apple to my inventory using console commands??? I can't seem to find the apple to activate this in the first place.
There's a simple red apple on the barrel next to Warmaidens in Whiterun. It doesn't have a special description to it, it's just an apple. Eat that. As for the spell tome... Try typing "help animam" or other words of the tome into your console. Should bring up the books in game code for you.
Cheers Hell, yup, the apple is nothing special other than it holds the script which adds the spell tome to the vendor lists, as long as a message popped up in the corner when you first loaded the game with the mod installed saying "New items available at vendors!" (or something like that anyway?!?) then the spell tome should be available at certain mage vendors (like the ones that work for the Jarls). Eating the apple or not should make no real difference it just means if you eat it the script wont ask itself if it has run already every time the game loads.
This is a very cool idea, but I think it could be improved to work with other kinds of characters besides mages. I think it would be cool to make it so that you can buy perk points with dragon souls (on a 3-1, or even 5-1 basis so it's not OP) through the MCM window like BlackLink16 did with his mod Your Magicka Your Way (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37238//?) I don't have any idea how this works, but I think it would be beneficial. Anyway, very nice mod nonetheless, thanks
Well I wouldn't put it in an MCM menu, that'd mean exiting the game to the menu just to trade souls which would break immersion and as for 3-1 or 5-1, weeellll, I'm currently level 50 with only 5 souls at the mo' and have nowhere near all the word-wall shouts so they're not something I can use up willy-nilly, plus the game demands you be a certain level in whichever school before you can take a perk so there's no point in trading souls for perk-points you can't use yet so I don't think it's overpowered in that sense.
No! Eating the apple is just because the apple is set to check it's self every time the game loads to make sure the new Spell Tome has been added to the vendor list, even though all it's doing after the first time is saying to itself, "Have I already ran? - Yes! - Ok, quit!" this still leaves a teeny-tiny footprint, so it's best to eat the apple which removes this check, but the game still needs the esp that holds all the components: spell, book, FX etc.
