Btw I added this back when there was no such list out on the internet that I could find. This was before CK was released and TESVSnip hadn't been released yet.
Of course now this download is pretty pointless because you can just look in the CK.
I have played with a bunch of the variables so I could probably help with some of them, but there are hundreds I've never tried of course.
I'm having quite a bit of trouble identifying what to edit so that my character will fall faster (or slower). I thought it would be as simple as the fJumpFallVelocityMin, but it turns out it wasn't. Any ideas guys? I really want to change the fall speed.
thanks, I already was afraid, that it is like this.
For other users: This are the best lists with explanations (direct links) I found so long - it explains some of the settings (but by far not all).
For Skyrim (very few): http://www.creationkit.com/GameSetting For Fallout (some match): http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Settings For Oblivion (some match): http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/Comprehensive_Settings_List
We both are in the same boat adrift at that point. I have absolutely no idea of what each and every one of these configurations do. I have not found any detailed list of what each of these settings actually do or if they have any effect. I usually open with the CK or TESVSnip the esp plugins from other mods to see what is configured.
With TESVSnip is easier to see the changes made by the mods. It shows only the records added to the plugin as groups. The CK shows absolutely everything and you have to look very closely to find the modified value, which is identified with an asterisk. Look at the images.
I would like to see some kind of wiki that explains each of these settings.
A tip when using the CK. When you enter to the properties of any item in the CK (by double clicking the item), a weapon for example, if you do not make any changes to that item, never close the Properties box by clicking the OK button. Use the Cancel button or the cross of the properties box. If you press OK, the CK saves that record in your active plugin, as if you had actually edited this record. I think this is one of the things that modders call /Dirty edit/.
thanks for the headsup. Is there anywhere a list (or some further explanations) about the hundreds of game settings, that you can change with the CK? For me, it's quite confusing. If you don't know, for what exactly you search, you will never find.
