would really be nice to have other options. I want to use the flame atronach horse for myself so I want her to use the undead one. and I'm too flustered right now to try to figure out how to do that myself. has anyone else figured out how to change the type of skin this mod gives to serana's horse??
simply replace the "soulcairnhorsebone.nif" that comes with this file with another one from the original Arvak rewritten mod taken from the subfolder of your choice. So if you want Alsvid to ride a frost atronoch version, then just take the file "02 Frost Atronach\meshes\actors\dlc01\horse\character assets\soulcairnhorsebone.nif" from wherever you extracted the original archive and copy and replace "data\meshes\ORM\Creatures\dlc01Arvak\soulcairnhorsebone.nif" in your skyrim data folder.
lol, finally got around to working on this mod again. I decided to try switching the meshes, then came back here to check something out and saw your comment - thanks! I haven't tested it out yet, but reading your comment is reassuring that it will work- thanks again! kudos to you
If you have Arvak Rewritten you can use any of the meshes just by placing them in meshes/actors/horse/character assets and rename the mesh you want to use to seranahorse and you're good to go.
Can you pleeeeease make different versions of this patch so Serana can use the different versions of Arvak from Dawnguard Rewriten??? I really hate that she summons a flame horse from the Soul Cairn, when really it should look like everything else from the Soul Cairn... purple.
Alsvid, Serana's horse, is added by Convenient Horses. Serana doesn't have a mount by default.. I think. Like all followers, right? In any case, Alsvid is added into the game by Convenient Horses.

So all in one packs of different types of arvak would be nice
and rename the mesh you want to use to seranahorse and you're good to go.

You can choose which ever look you want for Arvak, it won't interfere with Alsvid's looks.
