hello, can anyone tell me the (last five digits) item codes for this great armor? I want the ancient skyforge armor, but either because of a bug or because i am to lazy to complete the companions quests, it will not appear on the skyforge's menu.

      Help "Ancient Skyforge"

Just type that in the console, including the quotation marks, and it'll bring up a list of relevant items, and the codes for them.

So are these items added to leveled lists or only craftable?

Well... no response so I'm going to assume everyone has moved on.

    :..(

Ha! No worries. I may still update this mod some time later when I have the time, but it works just fine as it is currently so I will leave it be for now.

If someone wants to hassle me with making an update or needs to contact me, please do so by my email:

wow... it has been forever since i've been on the nexus (well.. more like 3 months). I've finished moving (sort of) and now I'm just trying to get settled. Apparently I still owe you guys an update There have been so many new mods since Feb that put mine to shame, but if anyone still wants this updated, I will see what I can do. Now that the Skyrim modding tools are out, hopefully it will be a lot easier for me.

@Balbor: so do i understand correctly that it has something to do with the Vampire Overhaul mod? I tested mine pretty thoroughly. It seems very strange that the hood is disappearing for you.

@vaul: correct; work on the companion questline and the new armors will become available. i *think* the shield is the last thing you get.

When ever my female character equips the ranger hood it doesn't show up and it turns her bald, also, she can equip more than one at a time along with another helm.

    Any help please

Tracked it down to the Vampire Overhaul mod, mainly the vampire night vision, changing the showracemenu command allowed me to wear hoods normally, (both ranger and guild ones) although it removed the night vision power, using the Become a vampire at start mod i was able to get the night vision skill back but it made the hods invisible

Love your work, was just wondering if version 3.0 was still on its way? Looks like you must of been busy.

So, for the Ancient Armor, do you have to be through the Companions quest to be able to make the Skyforge armors before this will show up? I just started a new character and got the steel smithing perk, but am unable to find this armor in the menu.

    Cheers,
    Vaul

Minor update: still working on version 3.0. I've been delayed because I'm moving and also planning a close friend's 30th birthday (don't tell her I told you that). I can honestly say it should be ready in two more weeks.

@BriTheGhost: I'm working on a higher level version for more late game use so keep an eye out for it later. In the meantime, consider this the short-term solution:

With elven smithing and smithing to lvl 100 you *should* be able to get the ranger armor pretty close to max protection rating. From what I remember, armor protection maxes out around 550ish (i forget exactly). Especially if you also use basic smithing potions, enchanted fortify smithing armor and/or armor perks, even lower tiered armor can be made equal to dragonscale armor relatively easily.

To further clarify, it is my understanding that you can actually get higher ratings than 550 (even over 600), but anything after 550ish doesn't protect you any better because of certain game mechanics (ie damage resistance caps at 80%)... or something like that. Refer to here for more info:
