just DL and had a look. As soon as I'm able, I am going to endorse this. Looking really promising so far. The area looks nice and feels natural, though there are a few places where the height map needs some adjustments to better conceal model boundaries. The Talos Shrine area looks absolutely stunning. Overall the place feels small, but cosy, like a nice garden. The inside of the manor looks cool.

Using the Katariah is probably not wise. It's a pretty unique ship. Though there are 2 versions of this ship. 1 that was used in game and another that has both outside and inside meshes that wasn't used. Probably better to use the other one, even though it's uglier.
Another thing is that the area seems like an odd mix of Imperial, Nord and Dwemer.

With all that said, these slight gripes are probably just issues with it being an early version.

As for the trials/tests. I only have one idea, and that's for strength. What if your character had to pick up a super heavy object, place it in the inventory and carry it over to some kind of platform. once you pick up the object, you are attacked by some creatures and have to fend them off while only being able to move slowly.

Thank you for testing out my map, this version however, is currently out of date with the version that I am working to release very soon! There were a lot of flaws in the version that is up for download at this point in time. I just needed to post something so I could work on starting to put a small team together. You are welcome to add any input you feel would be productive or supportive though!

      Thanks Again!

We're in the same, metaphorical boat partner: Working on some projects while getting the hang of the creation kit (also we both have actual boats in ours :U).

For starters it'd probably help if you got the rough idea of how you want the quest to proceed: Characters, dialogue, general procedure of how the quests turn out. After you get that all written out and visible you can tweak it then crack open the (understandably daunting) quest section and get to work!

In terms of how the tests would go:

Strength: Likely just defeating a mildly challenging character (be it humanoid or animal that's up to you to decide based on the mod story)

Courage: Not sure how this one would be. Possibly involving some form of platforming to cross a perilous room and to the other side. Quest wise, probably having the activation of some sort of level would allow you to proceed onwards.

Honor: More challenging (and abstract conceptually), not sure how you'd work this in story-wise or quest/scripting wise. Get thinking on this one in particular!

Judgement: possibly a puzzle of some sort, like those rotating nordic pillars with the animal carvings on them (whale, snake, eagle). If it is puzzle based, maybe it should come shortly after the Strength Trial.

("Strength - Judgement - Courage - Honor" being the new order of progression)

I'm more of a level designer myself, and I've mostly gotten the hang of spell and basic race creation. As for scripting/quest work I can't directly help any more than the bit of advice I gave you up there, and to point you in the direction of a few good video tutorials:

http://www.youtube .c o m/playlist?list=PL554EF7F3C2C7B6C7 (Remove those spaces in the com section. DarkFox has some good tutorials if you're looking to add puzzles, bards, and other such utilities, though nothing quest specific)

http://www.youtube .c o m/watch?v=AMi_21Kt-lQ (ForAdventure also has a series of tutorials. This one specifically goes to quests/character dialogue/Quest Scripting. It's a long one so saddle up and ride it out! C: )

Thank you so much man! You really have given me a lot to learn here! I love your ideas for the trials and as you have stated Honor will be the hardest to figure out. I was kinda thinking something like an arena, where you earn your honor in it but I really don't know how well that would work conceptually, nor do I have the ability to make something that advanced.

      Thanks so much!!

Making the arena itself wouldn't be all too hard, though as to how honor is earned on the battlefield depends entirely on one's (or in this case the person/entity/reason's) perception of honor itself which, as I said, is fairly abstract. Looking at your reply to another man's comment if Talos is guiding the player through then that could work.

I'd look into different things to replace honor (possibly an 'intelligence' test like I mentioned for Judgement), but I wouldn't remove it entirely from the list. I do have some more ideas if you would like to hear them, but to prevent comment clutter perhaps messages would suffice?

I agree entirely. I like the idea of honor, but I have no idea how to portray honor in absolution. Yes, I would love to hear your ideas, you are welcome to message me!

-that moment you figure the mod uploader would message you instead of the other way around- :S

I'll get the ideas written down somewhere else, message me so I don't forget~!

Thought of a really good idea for the Judgement test. There could be a room with two people. Each of them are trying to convince you that the other is some sort of criminal, or has done some sort of horrendous deed. You'll have to listen to both stories, then make your judgement and kill the one that has committed the disgusting crime.

    Just an idea

This was exactly what I thought of when I brainstormed the trials. I was figuring something along the same lines as the initiation quest (Not the Arentino quest but the Abandoned Shack one) for the Dark Brotherhood. I would really love to push this mod as far as it would go, possibly with voice actors and some other things. The main basis around this whole thing is earning everything, and I have so far thought that Talos would be the best deity/figure that guides the whole quest. Could look into voice acting for Talos, and other characters (such as the characters for each trial etc). Thanks for the feedback though!!
